History

Dean Swaybrick was a rich conservative. When the original Punisher was believed dead, he decided to don a Punisher costume and be a vigilante too. He even appeared on a talk show publicizing himself. However, when he tried to raid a crackhouse in front of the media, he was beaten to it by another would-be Punisher, Jimmy Pierce. Wanting revenge on this rival, Dean tracked him down and ambushed him, but Pierce grabbed a gun and killed Dean with it.
