History
Death came to take Galactus's soul to the Realm of Death after he had absorbed to much energy from the power stream of an imploded star which caused an overload in Galactus's body. But the World Devourer was spared from Death's grip after the Silver Surfer used his combine might of the Power Cosmic to merge with Galactus becoming an entire new being dedicated to the preservation of life.[1]
