Personal History
Declan Shalvey was born in Dublin, grew up in Ennis, County Clare, and studied Fine Art at Limerick School of Art and Design.
Professional History
His first comic, Hero Killers, published by Moonface Press in the UK in 2006, won an Eagle Award for "Favourite British Black and White Comicbook". In 2008 he illustrated Classical Comics' adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, and drew two issues of the Irish comic Freakshow (Atomic Diner) in 2007 and 2009. In 2009-2010 he drew ten issues of IDW's 28 Days Later. His first work for Marvel was a two issue run on Thunderbolts in 2010, and he has drawn a Captain America and Crossbones one-shot, due in March 2011.
