History
When Delilah visited Grandma Wang's bakery in Chinatown, she was introduced to her aunt's employee Shang-Chi. After questioning Shang-Chi about his past with MI6, Heroes for Hire, and the Avengers, Delilah handed him her phone number. Grandma Wang pulled Delilah aside and warned her of the rumors surrounding Shang-Chi's family.[1] Delilah later visited the bakery while Shang-Chi was turning in his resignation to Grandma Wang Shang-Chi informed her that a relationship wouldn't work between them, Delilah retorted that she specialized in Superhuman Law and told him not to patronize her, much to Shang-Chi's surprise.[2]
While investigating a rogue drug ring in New York City, Shang-Chi took Deliah out for a romantic dinner in the city. However their date was interrupted when Sister Dagger brought a captured drug dealer to the restaurant. Delilah left to call the cops while Shang-Chi argued with his sister about her behavior.[3]
Delilah and Shang-Chi later went on a date at a miniature golf course but were attacked by Razor Fist. Shang-Chi quickly defeated Razor Fist but was informed by Master Ling that the House of the Deadly Hand was under attack, prompting Shang-Chi to end the date.[4]
The two went on another date at a Mexican restaurant. During their date, Shang-Chi showed Delilah the Ten Rings while she discussed a client at work. As Delilah wondered out loud how their date was going to get interrupted again, servants of the Most Revered Game Administrators appeared before them, announcing that Shang-Chi had been chosen to participate in the Game of Rings to prove his worth in wielding the Ten Rings. Delilah kissed Shang-Chi goodbye as he was taken through a portal to the Meritorious Striving Pagoda. She then casually asked the startled restaurant staff for another margarita.[5]
Delilah took Takeshi's case pro bono and got him released early from prison. Shang-Chi later visited Delilah at her office with dinner and thanked her for helping his brother. The two agreed to move forward with their relationship.[6]
During the Gang War, Delilah hurried to the House of the Deadly Hand (New) after hearing reports that Shang-Chi was gravely injured by Mister Negative and didn't answer her calls. Delilah noticed she was being followed and stunned her stalkers with her ray gun until a healthy Shang-Chi revealed himself and explained that the men she shot were Warriors of the Deadly Hand that he assigned to protect her. Delilah angrily confronted Shang-Chi for keeping her in the dark about his involvement in the war and for his attendance at the crime lord meeting where a hit was placed on Randy Robertson. Shang-Chi told her that he was only involved to protect Chinatown and apologized for not doing enough to save Robertson. When Shang-Chi attempted to reveal more of his secrets, Delilah refused to hear any more of it due to her being a lawyer and him running a former crime syndicate and got frustrated when Shang-Chi declared to not reveal any more secrets to her. As Delilah lamented that their relationship was frequently interrupted due to Shang-Chi's activities, Shang-Chi noticed they were being watched by a shadowy figure and told Delilah to shoot him, as them being together would make her a target. Delilah obliged and shot him with her ray gun, telling him they were through and warned him to stay away from her. Shang-Chi told her that he also stole her case files on her superhero clients, provoking her into shooting him again before storming off. When Shang-Chi later manipulated Mister Negative, Lady Yulan and Diamondback into fighting against each other to keep them out of Chinatown, Delilah witnessed the destruction wrought between the three warring crime lords.[7]Paraphernalia
