History
Delphos was a member of the Kin Crimson, a highly secretive order that have existed since the dawn of Shi'ar society.[1] She fought alongside Karnak and Triton on a remote moon that the Shi'ar wished to acquire, and expressed her desire to join the Imperial Guard, as Oracle was set to retire and vacate her spot. After the battle was won for the Shi'ar, she was visited by Hobgoblin, who informed Delphos that she would indeed be inducted into the Imperial Guard.[3] Her precognitive powers helped Delphos identify a potential threat to the Majestrix Lilandra during a public ceremony, and Lilandra took the precautions of a body double, thereby saving her life from an assassination.[4]
Oracle soon rejoined the Imperial Guard, making her and Delphos two precogs on the team. When they told the new Majestrix Xandra that her life would be in danger, Xandra's aunt Deathbird suspected an enemy within the Guard and staged the Majestrix's disappearance to test the loyalties of her allies such as Gladiator. She took the Majestrix away from the Shi'ar homeworld, and the heir shuttle was eventually found by a secret team of X-Men led by Sunspot, whom Xandra had led to their side telepathically. Deathbird was then kidnapped by Sidri bounty hunters, and to keep this a secret Delphos and Oracle convinced the Empress to allow them to alter the memories of the mutants before they returned home.[5]
When Mentor informed the Majestrix that Kate Pryde's Marauders had breached Shi'ar space in a ship carrying a two billion-years old piece of Mysterium, Delphos recognized it as the First Blood Spilled and had a precognition that it could trigger the end of the Shi'ar society. She revealed her true form and allegiance to Xandra, dismissing her fellow Imperial Guards by revealing that she outranked them with a keyphrase that led Gladiator to acknowledge her superiority. Delphos then showed the Empress what the Marauders could bring and received permission to proceed with what needed to be done.[1]
Soon after, Delphos told Xandra that the Shi'ar would eventually rescue Deathbird, who had been captured before by the Sidri. In truth, Delphos had hired the Sidri to capture and murder Deathbird. However, unbeknownst to Delphos, Deathbird fought through several waves of enemy forces and returned to Chandilar, which had been conquered by the Kin Crimson.[6]
She then contacted Betel and informed them that she revealed the Kin's existence and the First Shame to Xandra, and told them to treat the Marauders' arrival as nothing more than a minor distraction. After contacting Betel, she contacted Erik the Red and told him that Xandra remained fearful and restrained.
After Erik beat the Marauders, he asked Delphos about Deathbird and she told him that the next time Xandra would see Deathbird, it'd be on a slab with Cassandra Nova beside her.
After the Marauders informed Xandra of their objective, she wondered why Delphos hid the truth from her. Delphos contacted the other Nobles and told them to prepare as Xandra began to doubt the Kin's objective. Xandra then changed her mind and decided that the Shi'ar would no longer hide theirs secrets, but when Delphos tried to object, Xandra restrained her and ordered Gladiator to arrest her. However, she soon managed to escape and battled Deathbird on Chandilar.[2]
But Deathbird won and subdued Delphos, she then brought her to the Marauders. However, Delphos revealed and gloated about murdering the young Xandra, accepting what would happen next. Deathbird was subsequently enraged and swiftly executed Delphos with her sword.[2]Attributes
