The Department of Mutants Affairs is an executive department of the government of the United States that is in charge of controlling mutant activity in the country, it is led by the scientist and member of the cabinet, Hank McCoy, alias Beast. It also has a law enforcement branch to arrest any mutant who breaks the law.
