Synopsis for "Destroyer: Chapter Five"
Keene Marlow experiences a heart attack while lying in bed with his wife. His soul travels to a state of limbo where he is confronted by three grim reapers. The Reaper's try to plead with Marlow to come peacefully as he's lived a long fulfilling life. Not ready to leave, however, Marlow mercilessly beats the reapers as the Destroyer. As a result, he awakens as the paramedics are attending to him. His doctor informs him that it seems as if his heart has healed itself a bit, enough for him to have a second chance at life.
Later he sees his contact with the government agency that he works for, but is informed that he's not there to see him. The government has decided that Darius will be the next Destroyer, and his first mission is to stop Techtronica, who's downloaded her consciousness into a bunch of computer programmers at the Pentagon. Marlow's daughter Felecia says that while it will be stressful, she's proud of her husband's decision to become the next Destroyer.

Trivia
- On the first page, Kevin is seen reading the book Savage Planet, Savage Beasts written by Nolan Grayson. This is a reference to Omni-Man, a character from Robert Kirkman's Invincible, who took the name Nolan Grayson after arriving on Earth and became a successful author. This small nod indicates that a version of Grayson exists on Earth-616, but it is unknown if he is an ordinary human or a member of the Viltrumite race, as in the Invincible universe.
