—Spider-Ham[source]Not just a watch -- a "Web Watch." But no ordinary web, no -- a web that connects all of time and spaces!
History
Web-Warriors[]

Pavitr's design
After the first Inheritors crisis, a group of Spider-Totems formed the Web-Warriors on the Loomworld to protect the Web of Life and Destiny and all the worlds connected to it. Pavitr Prabhakar of Earth-50101 developed wrist-mounted devices for the team that allowed them to view and travel the Great Web.[4] Although mainly used for the Web-Warriors business, some like Gwen Stacy also utilized their watches during their solo adventures.
During the second Inheritors crisis, some of the watches were stolen by the returned Inheritors, and in an attempt to trap them Norman Osborn Spider-Man of Earth-44145 blew up the Web of Life and Destiny. Their capabilities derived from the Great Web, the watches immediately stopped functioning, trapping most Spiders who were currently engaged in fighting the Inheritors.[5] Luckily, the watch of Earth-65 Gwen Stacy was rebuild into a Ticket to the Multiverse keyed to her DNA.[6] This left Gwen the only Spider with ability for casual Multiversal travel and allowed her to return everyone back to their home worlds after the Inheritors were defeated.[7]
The Great Web was eventually restored by the Patternmaker, but the watches remained out of use.[8] During this time Iron Mouse of Earth-8311 stole Spider-Ham's personal watch in an effort to repair it and use it himself; however, he was unable to fix it, so instead simply replaced the internal mechanism with the Bee-Yonder, at which point Spider-Ham stole the watch back.[9]
Spider-Society[]

Miguel's first design

Spider-Society design
In another reality, Miguel O'Hara would also go on to create his own interdimensional travel device, reminiscent of the Dimensional Travel Watch.[3] The technology he used apparently did not rely on the Great Web directly and instead of reminiscent of Alchemax's supercollider, which left the dimensional travelers glitching while in another dimension. After Miguel improved on his initial design, his watches prevented their wearers from glitching and also contained built-in surveillance devices. This allowed Miguel to establish the Spider Society, all members of which had watches of their own. Visitors to their HQ were also provided day passes that did not allow independent travel and were only useful for preventing glitching.[10]

Notes
- Utau and Utaa - the Watchers of Earth-65 and Earth-8 respectively - speculated that the portal devices mighty have been sentient based on the independent actions of the watch possessed by Gwen Stacy;[11] however, these actions were later revealed to have been orchestrated by the Gwen Stacy of Earth-617 - who possessed her own interdimensional travel device - in order to facilitate her initial encounter with Gwen.[1] Similarly Exiles Spider-Man 2099, Spider-UK, Superior Spider-Man, Lady Spider, and Spider-Man 2099, all independently possessed or created portal devices capable of traversing the Web of Life in fashions akin to that of the Dimensional Travel Watches.[12]
