History

Origin[]

Barrington studied in many colleges, MIT, Harvard, Imperial College, Karolinska Institute, and Univesity of Tokyo, but was expelled from every one of them because of her extreme stances on medical ethics.[1]

Brazil[]

Doctor Barrington (Earth-616) from Sabretooth & the Exiles Vol 1 1 001

Barrington briefly worked in Brazil, not distant from Nova Roma, to experiment with creatures. She created mutant-eating animals, but one of them was killed by the New Mutants, making her swear revenge on them.[2] She attacked Nova Roma with her creatures, but decided to spare Senator Lucius Aquilla, because he could bring the mutants to her.[3]

U-Men[]

Barrington's work in Brazil didn't really satisfy her, so she decided to work for the U-Men.[1] She was asked to harvest Children of the Atom's organs to study them. Unfortunately for them, Daycrawler, the only member of the team that wasn't kidnapped, called the X-Men to fight the U-Men.[4] While the Children of the Atom and the X-Men together defeated the U-Men, Dr. Barrington and her partner, Commander Kruger, left the building.[5] Afterward, Barrington kidnapped Kruger and started experimenting on her.[1]

Orchis[]

The fanatical methodology of the U-Men made Barrington leave the organization to join Orchis Corporation. Her first goal was to transform Kruger into a stronger creature, but to do that she needed a liver capable of healing itself; fortunately for her, her henchmen, the Nobodies, retrieved from the ocean the mutant Sabretooth, who, even wearing a dampening collar, was able to heal himself. She removed his liver, implanted it in Kruger, now being called The Creation, and placed a device called the Barrington coil in Sabretooth's stomach to monitor his mutant abilities. When Station Six moved to Noble Island, Barrington deployed the Creation against the Exiles, who were searching for Sabretooth. Barrington made Kruger kidnap one of them, Orphan-Maker, and the three flew away from Station Six, leaving Sabretooth to die, even though he remained alive and joined the Exiles.[1] At Station Two, Kruger and Barrington tried to open Peter's armor to discover how his powers work, but they couldn't. Peter revealed that only he can decide to open his armor, but Nanny had forbidden that. Barrington explained that Nanny behaved exactly like her General Contractor, always dictating some orders and never listening to her ideas. Orphan-Maker suggested Barrington stand up for herself and tell the GC how she really feels, and Barrington convinced him to do the same with the Nanny. Orphan-Maker then removed his helmet and she, by being exposed directly to Peter's powers, seemingly passed out.[6]
