History

In the year 2099, in Castle Doom, Latveria, Doctor Doom was bedridden and kept alive by machines. He summoned his servant Lucian to his side and told him that the time had come. Doom removed his mask, revealing an old, wrinkled face, marked by time and illness, but not scarred as Doom's should be. As he handed the mask to Lucian, the two repeated their vows: One Doom, One Legacy. Lucian incinerated his fellow imposter and took the role of Doom as his own.
