History

Doppelganger was a doppelgänger of Spider-Man created by Magus. When Dormammu arrived on Earth, he found the doppelgänger and possessed him, adding him to his Hellhounds. He first met his creative basis when he attempted to steal Black Tarantula's inter-dimensional teleporter. He was defeated by Spider-Man and the teleporter was swiped by Poison.

Dormammu was ultimately defeated by Scarlet Spider after he sold his soul to Mephisto to obtain the power to triumph over Dormammu in one-on-one combat. Freed from Dormammu's control, Doppelganger was recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. into the Spider-Men to combat the Multiversal Sinister Six.
