History
Dragonrider was a sentinel in the Atlantean Army, who was a secret political dissident and terrorist. She was angry at Namor and the ruling government for letting her people in the Colonies remain poor and starving while the elite in the Capital become richer. She and her fellow rebel leaders were contacted by Jacqueline Trufaut who had rediscovered Neptune's Mystic Talismans in the ruins of Pontus. Jacqueline gave Dragonrider a mystical conch shell that would allow her to control sea creatures.[1] The main beast under her control was a sea eel that had been mutated into a dragon-like form.[2]
While Namor was away, the rebels launched an assault on Atlantis. Dragonrider tried to flee after destroying a large portion of the city, but she got into a battle with the Sub-Mariner. Namor defeated her and after discovering she'd been a Sentinel, confronted her about what she had done. She tried to explain her actions, but Namor refused to believe what she had seen and sent her to the dungeons of Atlantis. Sometime later Dragonrider was freed, and with her rebels she fought Namor again, along with Jacqueline. During Jacqueline's battle with Namor; Dragonrider, Proteus and the Mad Twins flee.[1]
Dragonrider later joined a religious faction called At'la'tique, meaning "Fury of the Sea" and became a member of their strike force the Fathom Five. In an attempt to destroy all surface life the team attacks New York City and randomly attack anyone they meet in the streets. The Thunderbolts counteract the team and after a long battle are defeated and retreat into the ocean.[3]
Dragonrider and the rest Fathom Five attacked China and the Middle East.[4] Later they faced and defeated an Atlantean Army detachment sent to stop them.[5] One of Dragonrider's 'dragons' destroyed the Brooklyn Bridge.[6] Then Dragonrider and the rest Fathom Five attacked New York City again and battle Warbird and the Thunderbolts. She is horrified when Atlas started slaughtering one of 'dragons' with his bare fists.[7] Dragonrider, Bloodtide, and Manowar were seen being taken away by surface authorities.[8]Attributes
