Earth-121698 is the reality where Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer films take place.
Notes
- Based on a magazine cover Sue saw in a news agency, with advertised James Marsden's future superhero role and the 'Mystique' of Rebecca Romijin, it would appear that the X-Men are fictional characters in this universe, or at least that the films based on the real events existed and were still made.
- In a deleted scene for the first Fantastic Four film, Reed briefly transforms his face to look like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
- Following the Walt Disney Company's acquisition of 21st Century Fox and its assets, these Fantastic Four films (and the 2015 reboot) were re-categorized as "Marvel Legacy" movies on the streaming platform Disney+, to separate it from films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[1]
Trivia
- A solo film for the Silver Surfer was planned, and even scripted, before the project was eventually abandoned. It was even more likely to be made than a third Fantastic Four film.
- The late Don Payne (writer of Rise of the Silver Surfer, who would later go on to write Thor: The Dark World) mentioned that while he never discussed a sequel, he did have a love for the Inhumans, the Skrulls, the Puppet Master, Annihilus, and the Negative Zone.
