History

One of the most catastrophic events in the history of this universe occurred when Thanos invaded the Earth. Outfitted with a pair of Iso-Gauntlets built from Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S., the Mad Titan went on a rampage and slaughtered roughly half the heroes of the planet simply to send a message to the cosmic powers. This event became known as the "Zero Day."

The villain was finally stopped after Black Widow formed the A.V.E.N.G.E.R.S. Initiative, mobilizing those heroes who were left. With a combination of magic and science, Thanos was finally killed.

Other events such as the Eternity War, the Euro-Crash and the Climate Wars further pushed the world into a state of recovery. The A.V.E.N.G.E.R.S. Initiative continued protecting the world, with Danielle Cage taking up the mantle of Captain America to keep the faith.[1]

This world's Manhattan suffers from periodical floods, and Helium appears to be a precious material.[2] This universe is also constrained by a firewall in time set up by Kang which makes time travel nearly impossible, unless it's to different timelines.[1]

A version of this world was destroyed by Moridun, however the Avengers managed to travel back in time to Earth-616 moments before that and freed Billy Kaplan from the villain's influence in the past, adverting this course of action for their timeline.[3]

Notes

  • This universe's main point of divergence with Earth-616 is Thanos' invasion, which was adverted in the latter mainly due to Ulysses Cain's precognitive powers, which gave the heroes the chance to stop Thanos as soon as he set foot on Earth.[1]
  • As stated in U.S.Avengers #3, this universe was set thirty years into the future of that issue. At the time of its publication, that would set Earth-15061 in the year 2047.
