History
Immediately after the Mutant Massacre, Gambit was abducted by Galactus who proclaimed him as his new herald. Gambit tried to escape, but was stopped by Punisher robots, and Galactus explained to him his mission: to steal a planet from the Collector's Museum which the Collector would instantly destroy if Galactus himself attempted force. Gambit traveled to Collector's private gallery and quickly made new friends, before the Collector took him aside. Revealing that he was aware of his mission there, Collector explained that Galactus' target was a perfect but miniaturized copy of Taa, Galactus' home planet. Remy used a combination of his mutant powers and Power Cosmic abilities to create chaos, while absorbing energy which prevented the Collector from destroying his prize. Galactus himself then showed up, and condemned the Collector to live on the impostor copy of Taa, which was found to be a dead, lifeless world. For his service, Galactus then freed Gambit of his duties.[1]
