History
In his Castle in Transylvania, Dracula heard about the dhampir Eric Brooks who one day could have the power to slay all undead. Dracula went to London to deal with him, but was repelled by Blade and his allies Quincy Harker, Rachel van Helsing, and Frank Drake. Forced to flee, Dracula turned to more subtle methods. He unleashed his children upon a Christmas market, knowing that this would attract Blade into the trap. As Blade slaughtered his way through the lesser vampires, Dracula surprised him and bit him on the neck, turning Blade into a full vampire. However, Blade's unique physiology still made him resistant to Dracula's mind control and with his new vampiric powers Blade now posed even greater threat to Dracula who fled back to Transylvania. Requesting help from his human allies, Blade flew to Castle Dracula in bat form, where he slaughtered all of the lesser minions and eventually Dracula himself. Fearing that his vampire side would eventually take over, Blade asked Harker and the others to blow up the castle with him still inside, choosing to die and be remembered as Eric, and not Blade.[1]
