History
One World Under Doom continued for 128 years. 47 years in Doom chose to ascend, leaving the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme to Kristoff Vernard. Vernard assumed Doom's identity and became a repressive tyrant as the world fell apart around him.[1] Vernard's chosen lieutenants betrayed and killing him with an anti-magic Mysterium blade. They intended to use his collection of magic relics to protect what was left of the world from magical threats, only to learn that Doom had destroyed all of them, ensuring that magic died with him.[2] As the Annihilation Wave began ravaging Earth, Doom's lieutenants were transported back in time to Earth-616 by Kristoff Vernard via the Time Platform.[3][4]
