History

Home reality of the 1979 Captain America CBS television films including Captain America and Captain America II: Death Too Soon.

In this universe, Steve Rogers was not frozen for decades, and simply was a young man living in the late 1970's. His late father, however, had been a super soldier, whose enemies had nicknamed him "Captain America" for his patriotism. In 1979, Steve was dying and to save his life was given a serum reverse-engineered from his father glands. He was able to heal from his lethal injuries, as well as gaining peak human strength, endurance, speed, vision and hearing. Steve was given a costume and adopted his father's old nickname to hide his identity. As the new Captain America he went on several adventures of vastly different scales; such as stopping a scheme to replicate a neutron bomb[1] and preventing a gang from robbing the elderly.[2]

Later, Captain America faced the mysterious terrorist, Miguel, who had kidnapped a scientist to create a chemical weapon that caused rapid aging. In the end of that ordeal, Captain America rescued the scientist, but the people of Portland had rapidly aged ten months before the cure could be administered. The villainous, Miguel was permanently defeated as his final confrontation, with Captain America exposing him to a high dose of the chemical, aging him to death.[2]
