Earth-9939

An alternate future. One in which A.I.M. created a perfect assassin. An enemy used that perfect assassin and turned himself into the Devil incarnate. This is a world where fear, barbarism, and superstition rule. It is a place where science is dead, and progress has ground to a standstill. It is a world in which A.I.M. has utterly failed. And it is a world that A.I.M. is responsible for.

History

This Earth was a direct result of Baron Strucker the Fifth traveling back in time to Earth-616 and easily defeating most heroes using combination of magic and technology. The Avengers of this Earth travel back in time to stop Charnel from every reaching his full power, but this prove to be their undoing as Charnel absorbed the energy of Scarlet Witch becoming the monstrous creature he would be in their future. It was only thanks to Death's Head quick thinking that they were able to split him in two with a two time-disk. This caused this Earth to seemingly slowly vanish.^[3]

However, following Charnel-8410's defeat in the past, this reality still persisted for a time, as the chronal wave from the past was taking some time to get to the year 2020 of this timeline.

As Death Metal was made out of of one of Charnel-9939's Prometheum-composed drones, the two beings had an intristic connection with each other. This, coupled with the fact that Death Metal's creator, Evelyn Necker-8410 programmed Death Metal with the history of Earth-8410, made Charnel-9939 be aware of his defeat in the past, with him subsequently making plans to prevent his aforementioned defeat to preserve his timeline.

However, before Charnel could accomplish his plans, Death³ managed to defeat him, with Death Metal tearing his heart out as the other two kept him busy.

Shortly following Charnel's defeat, the chronal wave catched up to the year 2020 and this reality was finally erased out of existence.^[4]

Monica Rappaccini of AIM-616 discovered Earth-9939 as a timeline overwritten by time travel. In order to make the AIM's secret base in Marken, Norway be undetectable to the inhabitants of Earth-616, she made the base out of synch with their own timeline and be in synch with this "quantum pocket" instead. While Monica was aware that this would result in a vacuum that would threaten to overwrite Earth-616 with Earth-9939, she knew that Hank Pym-616 and Reed Richards-616 would be able to stop the chronal anomaly, which they did.

Later, Hank Pym managed to 'free (this) imprisoned timeline'. He then exiled Monica and her team to Earth-Charnel.^[5]
