History

This reality was presumably similar to Earth-616 up until Secret Wars, when Thing returned from space to celebrate his and Mister Fantastic's anniversary of becoming the Fantastic Four. He instead found the Venom symbiote, feeling bad for the creature and spiteful of Reed after he avoided their anniversary to take care of other matters he set the symbiote free leading it to possess him. However upon being bonded to the symbiote the Thing turned back into Ben Grimm making Ben wanting to keep the symbiote, Reed attempting to convince Ben against it, however Ben felt that Reed was only jealous that he hadn't come up with a cure before the symbiote before leaving out the window. [1]

Reed feeling guilty wanted to find a way to take the symbiote away whilst keeping Ben human, however Invisible Woman told him that their responsibility is to save people and Reed will eventually come up with a cure. Reed heeded Sue's words and the 2 began repairing the sound machine which Ben destroyed, meanwhile Ben met with the Lizard who he at first attempted to fight but the Lizard convince Thing that he was only there to help Ben share the symbiote with the world. However the Lizard double-crossed Ben and stole the symbiote proceeding to use it to kill Reed and Sue, Ben slowly turned back into Thing but by the time he reached the Baxter Building it was too later and Lizard had killed Reed and Sue. [1]

The Lizard at first attempted to convince Thing that this was a good thing and to join his side. However, enraged by his friends' deaths he wasn't having it and tackled Lizard out of the Baxter Building and stole the symbiote. The Lizard seeing he was about to die asked Thing what would Reed would think about this, however still angered from Reed's death and not willing to listen to reason killed Lizard. Thing now allowing the symbiote to fully possess him roared as helicopters shined down on him. [1]
