History
In this timeline, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants received a letter prior to going back in time to try to defeat the X-Men before they could master magic and tech. The letter was sent by a Xavier who had already traveled to the past, and contained instructions in how to try again and win.[1] They took advantage of the original five X-Men's absence in the past to impersonate them there, reshaping the future as they saw fit.
Most of the damage the Brotherhood caused to the timeline was undone when they escaped back to the timestream after losing a battle to the original X-Men and their allies,[2] with the rest being undone after the original X-Men returned to their proper place in time, thus diverging the Brotherhood's alterations from Earth-616 to Earth-TRN657.[3]Notes
- As established in All-New X-Men #28, whenever the Brotherhood lose a battle or one of their own, they send a message to their past selves so they can keep the fight going. This is one of the two timelines shown to have been created this way, the other being Earth-TRN878.

- ↑ As deduced by Professor X in X-Men: Blue #20, the return of the time-displaced X-Men to their proper place in time (seen in Extermination #5) retroactively undid the deaths of Mastermind, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Toad at the hands of the Future Brotherhood, thus stabilizing the timestream and keeping the events of Earth-616 unaltered.
