History
Little is known about Edith's life before being recruited by Nighthawk to serve in his team of super powered Redeemers to fight the influence of the Squadron Supreme's Utopia Program on their alternate earth. Inertia, along with other Redeemers Moonglow, Thermite, Haywire, and Redstone, infiltrated the Squadron and was elected to full membership.[1]
Inertia served for a month before the Redeemers openly opposed the Squadron. In the battle between the teams, Inertia was instrumental in the Redeemers' victory, taking one of the Squadron's most powerful members Power Princess out of the battle before being knocked unconscious by Doctor Spectrum. Inertia elected to remain a member of the Squadron once the Utopia Program was dismantled.[2]
During her time in the Squadron, she developed a romantic relationship with Haywire. Inertia died in battle against the Nth Man, whose existence threatened the Squadron's Earth. Inertia had tried to use her power to control kinetic energy to stop the Nth Man, but it backfired, and her body dissolved.[3]Attributes
Powers
- Kinetic Energy Transference: Inertia had the ability to control and transfer the kinetic energy (momentum) of one object or person to another.[4] Inertia can also absorb kinetic energy and redirect it as a concussive wave against her opponent.[5] Power Princess considered her powers to be among the most dangerous in the Redeemers.[2]
