History
At some point after Peter Parker rid himself of the Venom symbiote, it bonded to Eddie Brock, and the two become Venom. Sometime after, Venom was imprisoned at Ryker's Island.
Venom was among the inmates that escaped after a mass breakout at Ryker's, and he immediatly targeted Peter's family, which now included a daughter; Annie Parker. Peter arrived to find Venom already holding his family hostage, which sent Peter into a rage, fighting Venom with a ferocity he had never shown before. After a lengthy battle, Peter realized the only way to stop Venom was to kill him. Peter trapped Venom in a burning building and caused it to collapse on him, and was traumatized enough by the event that he retired from his superhero persona entirely.[1] Peter was, however, not unaffected by his choice to kill Eddie—even years after the incident, he still found himself having reoccurring nightmares about it.
