History
Venom's history is similar to that of the Venom of Earth-92131, though there are deviances. As Spider-Man recalled, following their first fight, Venom's symbiote was never separated from Eddie Brock, and S.H.I.E.L.D. took Venom into custody. Venom would escape confinement and encounter Cletus Kasady, bonding him to the Carnage Symbiote. Over time, the Venom Symbiote completely took over Eddie Brock's mind.[2]
Venom and Carnage boarded John Jameson's shuttle to Counter-Earth despite Spider-Man's efforts.[1]
Venom worked with Carnage in an effort to perpetuate the spread of an alien hive mind throughout Counter-Earth. They mutated into new more powerful forms prompting Spider-Man to create his new suit. Venom's form featured spikes and a more muscular body. They also had an elastic stretching power instead of webs.[citation needed]
The Beastials forcibly separated the Venom Symbiote from Eddie Brock following an encounter with Spider-Man.[2] Spider-Man took Eddie to Naoko Yamada-Jones, who told Peter that as Eddie had been bonded to a Symbiote for so long, he would die without it. During his withdrawal, Eddie came to realize what he had become and what he had lost as Venom. Carnage would track Eddie down and admonish him for rejecting the Symbiote, while threatening Naoko and her son, Shane. Spider-Man returned with the Venom Symbiote, but Eddie rejected the Symbiote, stating he wanted to stay as Eddie Brock "whatever the price". Carnage threatened the lives of Naoko and Shane, and Eddie conceded that the only way to help them was to rebond with the Symbiote and become Venom again. For a moment, Eddie remained in control and fought Carnage. The fight was interrupted by the High Evolutionary's Machine Men, and Venom and Carnage teamed up to destroy them. In the course of the fight, Venom regained dominance over Eddie Brock, and despite having been helped by Spider-Man, Venom and Carnage attacked him, combining into a single entity. Spider-Man overloaded one of the Machine Men's sonic weapons and tossed it at the gestalt Symbiote, separating them when it detonated. The two Symbiotes escaped.
Eddie was eventually captured by the High Evolutionary's Machine Men and separated from the Venom symbiote. After being freed by Spider-Man, Eddie revealed to him that he had made a contingency plan that if he was separated from the symbiote one last time, the Synoptic's spores would infect every civilian in New York. He and the others then look in horror as spores rain down on the city.[3]Attributes
