History
Eddie Brock's history is presumably similar to that of his Earth-616 counterpart up until Spider-Man (Peter Parker) gave up the Black Suit and Eddie went to church to beg for forgiveness to commit suicide. When Peter was trying to give up the symbiote he overexerted himself and the mental strain was too much on him, killing him in the process. The symbiote feeling guilty for inadvertently causing Peter's death it searched for a new host and bonded to Eddie the two taking the name Spider-Man. The symbiote however not knowing whether or not Eddie wanted to continue on Peter's legacy restricted Eddie's actions and only allowed him to speak and move through it, it didn't even allow Eddie to think freely so while he could see all his actions he could not control them.[1]
Sometime later, Doctor Octopus (Otto Octavius) attacked New York and after saving the people the two battled Ock, Ock however wanted to know the secret to this new Spider-Man's abilities and unintentionally found the symbiote's weakness via banging his metallic tentacles together. This temporarily separated Eddie and the symbiote, Ock seeing that without the symbiote that Eddie was just a normal man stated that he could just take the symbiote for himself but was content to just kill Eddie and the symbiote. However Eddie now separated and free from the symbiote decided that even though the symbiote forced him to be a hero without his permission he liked it and decided he wanted to live and so with his free hand threw a brick at Ock temporarily incapacitating him. Eddie then went over to the injured symbiote praying that it was alive while Ock got back on his feet.[1]
Ock retorted that Eddie's move was cheap given that he just used random rubble to attack Ock, however when Ock looked up he found that Eddie and the symbiote were re-bonded. However the symbiote now sensing that Eddie was working with instead of the symbiote restricting his movements allowed the two to work in fluid movement together permanently defeating Ock as Spider-Man. Suddenly two were surprised when Agent Venom (Anne Weying) came through a portal telling the two to come with her.[1]
Eddie was seen among Agent Venom of Earth-1051's symbiote squad and fought Carnage whenever they confronted him.[2][3][4]See Also
