A member of an ancient, mysterious alien race, Peter Quill's father was on Earth at some point in the late 20th Century, and conceived Peter with Meredith Quill. By 1988, he had left Earth, and ran into the pirate group known as the Ravagers. Yondu Udonta, the leader of the Ravagers, mentioned that he had never liked him.
