History
Ego's life mirrored that of his Earth-199999 counterpart until 1988, when the leader of the Ravagers, Yondu Udonta, delivered him his Earth son, Peter Quill. From then on, he used his son as a vessel to carry out his plans for The Expansion of his powers, using his seedlings to do so. He was partially successful in destroying most of the Nine Realms until Peter was sent to Earth and was interrupted and arrested by the newly formed Avengers. When he realized that he couldn't communicate with his son, Ego went to Earth to find him and activate the seedling but had to use a rock army against the Avengers and successfully overpowered them. Ego was then close to completing his plan of taking over Earth until his son and Ant-Man snuck into his makeshift fortress and he admitted to his son the truth about killing Peter's mother. This caused Peter to use his celestial powers against his dad, completely destroying his corporeal form.[1]
