Elder God (Vale of Lost Women) (Earth-616)

This "Elder God" was said to have been born in "night-black gulfs beyond the reach a madman's wildest dream" (possibly the Outer Dark). It was known as a god to the Bakalah, a people of the rain forest of the Black Kingdoms during the Hyborian Age.

It was summoned by women of the race inhabiting the Vale of Lost Women, for which they intended to sacrifice the Ophirean woman Livia of House of Chelkus. Conan the Cimmerian battled it and, despite being unable to slay it, force it to flee back.^[1]

Notes

This being was described as "some Elder God", and hailing from the Outer Dark.^[1] It can hypothesized to be a demon of the third class, of extradimensional origin, an Old One, an N'Garai or a Mabdhara.
- It has been stated that references to the "Outer Dark" would typically refer to demons of the third class, of extradimensional origin, primarily the Old Ones and the N'Garai.^[2]
- Are notably called "Elder Gods" the Old Ones,^[2] N'Garai,^[3]^[2] and their masters the Mabdhara.^[4]
That creature was created by Robert E. Howard in The Vale of Lost Women, and was supposed to be part of the Cthulhu Mythos.^[5]
