Betty Brant shared a similar history to her Earth-616 counterpart until her husband was captured by Jackal. Instead of being rescued by the original Peter Parker he was instead saved by Peter Parker's clone and the clone took over his life, believing himself to be the original. In order to determine more about his life he traveled to the Daily Bugle where he met Betty who thought he was acting oddly and drove him back to his apartment.[1]
