History

As on Earth-616, Betty Brant is an employee at the New York Newspaper, the Clarín (that universe's version of Daily Bugle). Betty knew about Jameson's frequent bad temper moments, and was on a first-name basis with photographer Peter Parker.[1]

When Productores Unidos started filming a movie about el Hombre Araña, starring el Hombre Araña as himself, photographer Peter Parker (secretly el Hombre Araña) went to the offices to meet with Jameson and ask to send him to take photos of the filming for the newspaper. Brant congratulated Peter for being chosen to represent the newspaper.[1]

Brant was at the Clarín with Parker and other employees - Ned Leeds and Joseph Robertson - when Jameson demanded an involving feature about the several airplane crashes that had happened recently. Parker suggested that the Clarín paid a reporter a plane ticket for the same plane prominent Brohoober was taking so that they'd be close in case something happened - but only Parker volunteered for this. Jameson accused Brant and the others of being afraid.[2]

Later, a repenting drug dealer gave Jameson a letter with a document to deliver to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, incriminating his former accomplices. Understanding the importance of it, and seeing the Mafia's interest in grabbing it, Jameson decided that, instead of keeping the document in his safe, Parker would keep it at his home, where nobody would look for it. The following day, he wanted Parker and Brant to deliver it to the FBI together, which they agreed to. However, by the following day, a visit by lawyer Matt Murdock worried Jameson, who changed his mind and resolved to keep the letter, so as not to deliver it to anyone involved in the criminal organization. The situation was solved before Brant had to do anything.[3]

Notes

  • On Earth-TRN911, Peter Parker dreamed that he was marrying Gwen Stacy. In the dream, Brant was among the wedding guests, apparently having gone with Ned Leeds.[4]
