History

During the final days of President Zawadski's term before General Armand Petrov's coup, the U.S. Embassy in Dovbrotel, Chernaya was the target of a student protest.

During the course of the protest, Hawkeye followed U.S. Ambassador Peter Antone to the embassy, since he was investigating a string of murders of former high-ranking Hydra officers, hoping to find the deceased Black Widow behind them. The Winter Soldier was doing the same, and he butted heads with Hawkeye when Barton was confronting Antone at his office in the embassy. The clone of Black Widow that was behind the murders had already been at Antone's office, and had rigged with explosives a drawer where Antone stored his gun. When Antone tried to get his gun to defend himself from Hawkeye and the Winter Soldier, he triggered the explosives and was killed. Hawkeye and the Winter Soldier barely escaped from the massive explosion.
