Lula entered the Empire State University because her parents could afford the enrollment costs; but her grades were sub-par and she feared she'd fail, spoiling her parents' sacrifice. Overwhelmed, Lula decided to commit suicide by jumping from a skyscraper during the Acts of Vengeance; but mid-fall, she unsconciously called for help and was rescued by the Moon Knight. Fearing a relapse of her self-destructive tendencies, the Knight watched over Lula for a while, and then left her with the firefighters while she helped save more people. The Knight's actions shocked Lula and made her cry.[8]

Felicia and Ryan became close friends, spending most of their time together until one night Ryan demanded that it was time for their relationship to become physical. Felicia's protests were in vain. A few months later, Ryan was killed during a drunk driving accident.[10]
