History
The Engels served as the foot soldiers and emissaries of the Manchester Gods, a small force borne from the British collective subconscious that represented industrial revolution and urbanism in Otherworld. The Engels were actually members of the various races native to Otherworld who were (either forcibly or of their own free will) assimilated into the ranks and outfitted with steampunk-style cybernetics. As the Manchester Gods first arose in the north of Otherworld (in the vicinity of Fairyland), the Engels initially consisted of conquered fairies. However, as the Manchester Gods grew in strength and marched southward toward the Domain of the Trolls, they conquered members of the troll race and assimilated them into their ranks.[1]
