Epoch is a cosmic being, the master of the Protectors of the Universe, and the daughter of the late Eon.[1]
History

Quasar with the newborn Epoch
Thanks to Thanos' interference with Eon's body, Epoch required Quasar's assistance in hatching from her egg.[1]
After the death of Greg Willis, the Earth hero known as Gravity, Epoch took his body and encased it in a chrysalis, hoping that in eons' time he would have emerged as the next Protector of the Universe. This process was interrupted, however, by the Black Panther and his Fantastic Four, engaging in conflict with the Silver Surfer nearby. Galactus had plans to consume Epoch, and Gravity and the Fantastic Four were forced to make battle with his heralds the Surfer and Stardust. When Gravity fed his cosmic Protector power to Galactus, Epoch was saved, but Willis turned down her offer to return him to his chrysalis, and she left the humans in gratitude, presumably to search for another candidate for Protector.[2]Attributes
