History
Eric Brooks's mother was fed upon by a vampire during his birth, turning Eric into a half-vampire. Gifted with all of a vampire's gifts and none of their weaknesses except for their thirst for blood, Eric swore to avenge his mother's death and became Blade, the vampire hunter.[1]
Eclipse Phase
When Mephisto and Dracula made an alliance and cast a spell which left the Earth completely eclipsed for as long as the spell was maintained, Blade started hunting down the vampires which started roaming the streets during the eternal night. He offered to help S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Alliance stop the villains and the eclipse.
He travelled back to London with a S.H.I.E.L.D. strike team to recover the Darkhold, a book Doctor Strange needed to counter the spell. Even though Blade managed to get the book from a mind-controlled Sebastian Shaw, Dracula took control of the wills of other three British heroes, and tried to prevent Blade from returning to Doctor Strange in New York. After breaking the mind control from the heroes, Blade confronted Dracula, and forced him to flee.
After having returned to New York City, Blade joined Morbius in the hunt for demonic vampires. Dracula and Mephisto entered the Sancto Sanctorum in an attempt to prevent Strange from finishing the counter-spell, but they failed, and the eclipse was brought to an end. With the crisis over, Blade joined the Alliance.[2]
