Blade approached Dane Whitman when he was about to unsheathe his family's ancestral Ebony Blade for the first time, and asked him if he was ready for it.[1]

- Mahershala Ali appeared in an uncredited voice role as Blade in the post-credits scene for the film Eternals as a cameo, which was confirmed by director Chloé Zhao and actor Kit Harington in an interview.[2] Ali will reprise his role in the upcoming film Blade.

- Mahershala Ali previously portrayed Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Netflix series Marvel's Luke Cage, and voiced Aaron Davis in the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and another variant of him in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
