History
Blade's history was identical to that of his Earth-199999 counterpart until Janet Van Dyne was infected by a virus from the Quantum Realm. Janet infected her husband Hank Pym when he tried to take her out of the Quantum Realm which resulted in the spread of the virus around the world. At some point, Blade met the avatar of the moon god, Khonshu, however, his avatar was lost during the zombie apocalypse, causing Blade to become Khonshu's new avatar.[2]
Five years after the apocalypse, Blade was headed to Mexico, but Khonshu ordered him to stay and protect the survivors stranded in the Valley of the Broken Gods. Blade rescued Kamala Khan from the fight between Ikaris and Zombie Captain Marvel. Through Khonshu, he discovered the Intergalactic Transmitter Kamala possessed, which could be the key to saving the world, so he helped her. Some time later, they arrived at the Northern Institute, protected by brainwashed zombies, where Melina Vostokoff, Yelena Belova, and Red Guardian, who had abandoned them, resided. Vostokoff analyzed the transmitter and discovered that its purpose was to contact the Nova Corps in outer space, as S.H.I.E.L.D. believed they could reverse the outbreak; however, due to Wakanda incident, it was necessary to go into space to use the transmitter.
At that time, the base was besieged by the Red Queen's army, led by Okoye, forcing the survivors to escape. The army was stopped by the Black Widows and later by Melina, who used Black Widow's technology to stop the zombies, although it was a temporary attempt. Ghost attempted to stop them, but Blade cut her to pieces and, along with Kamala, Yelena, and Red Guardian, they managed to escape the Institute. Blade soon informed the others that there was another way to get to space, using the ships the Asgardians used to get to Earth, so they would have to go to New Asgard.[3]
Kamala, Blade, Red Guardian and Yelena arrived at City on the Sea, led by Baron Zemo, and where there were more survivors, there they met another group of survivors made up of Shang-Chi, Katy Chen, Jimmy Woo, Death Dealer, among others. After boarding the Raft and diving, they hoped to reach their destination, however, Okoye contacted Namor and sent him to hunt them down, so Zemo ejected the cell where they slept to use them as food for Namor, but he returned them to the Raft, entering the process along with his zombie Talokanil. They held off the zombies long enough to enter Zemo's escape pod, but were pursued by Namor, who killed some survivors before Kamala blew his head off. Afterward, Yelena sacrificed herself to make the escape pod work, and they escaped while she was overwhelmed by the zombies. The remaining survivors soon departed for New Asgard.[4]
Upon arriving at New Asgard, they were greeted by Valkyrie, who initially denied them entry until Blade brought out Khonshu and convinced her to let them in. Once inside New Asgard, Khonshu informed Blade that they were not to touch anything from the Asgardian Feast, and that there they would encounter an emotionally broken Thor and, shortly after, an uninfected Wanda Maximoff who attempted to convince them to help her but they refused. They soon discovered that the food Wanda gave the Asgardians was zombie-proof meat, causing the Asgardians to turn into zombies and be controlled by Wanda. They then escaped but lost survivors in the process, managing to escape into space after Thor stayed behind to fight Wanda. As soon as they were in space, they activated the transmitter, only to find that the Nova Coprs were already there and had quarantined Earth to prevent the quantum virus from leaving. [5]
The Nova Coprs destroyed their ship, but they were saved by the Sorcerers of Kamar-Taj, with whom they teamed up to fight off Wanda's army and prevent her from stealing the power of the Infinity Stones that Hulk contained. As soon as they arrived to protect themselves with Infinity Hulk, they fought off the zombies, however, they began to get overwhelmed. When the zombified Thor arrived to the battle, he went straight to attack Hulk, Blade went to try and stop him, but Thor summoned a powerful lightning bolt that evaporated Blade in seconds, killing him.[6]Attributes
