History
Esrit was the Demon-Familiar, having agreed to serve for a given term Vacharn, a necromancer living on the Isle of Na'at with his sons Uldulla and Wokal, in exchange for the blood of a living man chosen for his strength and valor.
After Conan's ship crashed on Na'at, Conan and Sigurd were saved by the undead servants of the necromancers to serve as the sacrifices for Esrit.
As Conan was shown his future fate as Sigurd was sucked, he overcame the spell that kept him still and threw Esrit at Vacharn, who repelled the demon using the word "Agor".
Uldulla and Wokal eventually allied with Conan to slay Vacharn. Equipped with scimitars with lethal runes and inscribed with death-spells, they attacked Vacharn. Wokal was wounded by Vacharn, and Esrit drank his blood until he died. As Vacharn killed Uldulla before being achieved by Conan, Esrit attacked Conan, who slew it using his enchanted scimitar.[1]Notes
- Esrit was created by Clark Ashton Smith in "Necromancy in Naat" (Weird Tales; July, 1936), adapted by Roy Thomas in "The Necromancers of Na'at" (Conan the Savage #10, May, 1996).
