Synopsis for 1st story

Reprint of the 1st story from
House of M #7
The battle between the awakened heroes and the House of M continues. Rogue herself even absorbs a huge amount of mutant powers to help them win this. As the House of M, minus Magneto, takes cover behind Polaris' magnetic shield, their sister Wanda disassembled like blocks. An enraged Quicksilver presumes that their attackers have caused this. He dashes at Rogue, only to be blasted away by her.

Above all the chaos, Doctor Strange's astral form noticed a pink light coming from one of the towers. Phasing through it, he finds Wanda, playing with her twin boys. The body that disassembled outside was actually for show. Strange then tries questioning Wanda if she was the one who created Layla, to which she claims she doesn't know. He then shows her the battle outside, where their friends are fighting. Wanda laments that "he" just wanted everyone to be happy. "He" was in fact Quicksilver. When he tried pleading his father to do something, Magneto just didn't know what to do. Even Wanda was considering to die. However, Quicksilver convinced her that she can use her powers and Xavier's to create a better world where everyone, including their friends, can have their most greatest desires. Strange relays this information to Emma. But before he could ask Wanda about Xavier's whereabouts, an arrow stabs her in the back.

The shooter is Hawkeye, who is angry at Wanda for what she has done. After she removed the arrow, one of her sons renders him non-existent. Wanda then starts having another breakdown, one which she can't control.

Meanwhile, in the Xavier Memorial Garden, Magneto has found Emma, Layla and Cloak and demands to know why they are attacking his family. Layla panics and her powers accidentally affect Magneto, alerting him to the truth. In anger, he returns to the battlefield to find Quicksilver. He viciously attacks his son, demanding to know what he has done. Quicksilver argues that they were going to kill his sister. Magneto retorts that he only used her and him, something he would've never allowed. He uses huge pieces of metal to beat his son to a bloody pulp.

Suddenly, Wanda appears and revives her brother. She then lashes out at her father, declaring that they, mutants, are not gods or rulers, but freaks and he chose world conquest over his own children. She then says three words: "No more mutants." In a blinding flash, the House of M world disappears into nothing.

Synopsis for 2nd story

Reprint of the 1st story from
House of M #8
The House of M world has disappeared and the normal Earth has returned. Layla Miller wakes to this restored world.

At Avengers Tower, Peter Parker wakes up to see his wife Mary Jane by his side. He then rushes into the Avengers conference room, where he finds the others, some who remember House of M and some who don't. A ragged Doctor Strange then stumbles in, explaining that everything is not all right.

At the Xavier Institute, Emma Frost wakes up to find that most of the students have lost their powers, including Iceman having lost his ice form. Emma checks Cerebra and determines that there are only a few hundred mutants left with powers. The X-Gene itself was either erased for turned off for everyone else. Nightcrawler goes to check up on Wolverine, fearing that losing his healing factor will allow the adamantium in his body to kill him. Instead, he remembers every moment of his life.

Word of mutants suddenly losing their powers have been noticed worldwide. The Avengers are more shocked at this outcome. Captain America and Ms. Marvel asks Strange is he can uses the magics to locate Wanda, to which responds he can't. He laments that he had failed in his task to protect the world from such a disaster. Spider-Man then asks him if he magically erase the memories of the House of M from his mind, to which Strange replies that it's not how it works. Iron Man and Jarvis then alert everyone that there is a break-in at the Mansion. Upon arrival, they find a number of arrows pinning Hawkeye's costume and an article about his death, leaving confusion about what has happened.

The X-Men find a depowered Magneto in Genosha. They demand he reveal Wanda's whereabouts, to which he doesn't know. Wolverine is half of mind to kill him, but decides to let him live his "sapien" life.

With Xavier missing and Wanda being shown, living a normal life, Hank Pym gives a theory that those powers couldn't have just gone away. As stated by Newton's Third Law of Motion, for every action force, there is a reaction.

As if to puncture the statement, a colossal red ribbon appears above Earth.

Uncanny X-Men #465
Brian and Meggan are unable to sway Omega Sentinel in assisting them to save all creation, so they continue to battle her and her relentless Sentinels. Close to the action, Captain UK and Justicer Bull reveal themselves to Pete Wisdom and Courtney Ross as assistance for Brian sent by Roma. Meanwhile Rachel, Betsy and Nocturne continue to fend off the greedy Marauders. Brian and Betsy are still "twin-synching" with each other, sharing experiences and emotions. Unfortunately, the stubborn Omega Sentinel refuses to listen to Brian's pleas and fires at Courtney Ross. As Brian mourns her apparent death, more Sentinels begin walking towards them. The Captain Britain Corps are left to deal with the gigantic beasts while Brian, Meggan and Pete go help out at the Lighthouse. But before they can seal the hole in causality, Omega arrives with her squadron to finish what she started. Betsy and Rachel deflect her powerful nuclear beam and as the flood of light clears, all that remains are the people in their protective telekinetic shield. The tear in causality is smaller now but they only have a few minutes before Roma nullifies Brian's universe. Juggernaut attempts to plug the hole with Blob's massive body but it is not enough to seal the hole. Meggan soars through the rift and calls forth the power of the Beyond, planning to seal the breach from both sides. A cloud of immense power, ready to repair the fabric of all realities, rages towards Meggan but she urges her husband to stay back. Brian and Betsy hold the tear while Rachel seals the breach from their side. As the wave hits the rift, all three heroes are pushed back. The group grieves over Meggan's sacrifice and Brian thanks his wife for saving their world from untold destruction.
