Exodus appears before the Acolytes and tells them of Fabian's betrayal, and then they leave Cortez. Many X-Men from all different teams attend Illyana's funeral. Before the funeral, Shadowcat notices a change in Colossus when he burns all his old paintings. Colossus also later blames Xavier for Illyana's death. Then the funeral starts. During the middle of the funeral, Magneto and his Acolytes appear. Magneto holds all the X-Men in place and tells them his ideas. When Quicksilver talks bad about Senyaka, Magneto kills Senyaka saying it was not 'his' decision for the Acolytes to attack the hospital. (X-Factor #92) Magneto then offers them haven, and sends his Acolytes up. Bishop manages to absorb the energy and blast Magneto, freeing the X-Men. The X-Men are winning the fight until Colossus intervenes and joins Magneto's cause. Xavier then forces Magneto up and falls himself, only to be caught by Archangel. But the threat of Magneto is still out there.

Continued from last issue...

After being attacked by Venom, Wolverine is now impaled on a tree branch. He cuts himself free of Venom's webbing, and tells himself not to worry about the pain. But Nightmare, who can hear Wolverine, tells the mutant from his mountain that this dream is real, and that he can and will die here. He then appears before Wolverine, suggesting that Wolverine should follow Venom and the illusion of Mariko. Wolverine, furious, snaps the branch off of the tree, and then, painfully, pulls it out of himself. Meanwhile, Venom has thrown the girl over his shoulder and is now carrying her to Nightmare's mountain. He demands that she give him answers, and she timidly tells him that she knows nothing.

Venom and the girl come to a dock by a river, and find Wolverine sitting on it. Venom puts the girl down and is surprised to see the mutant still alive, and Wolverine asks Venom if he wants to continue their fight. Venom happily agrees, and he tackles Wolverine off of he dock and into the river. As the two struggle, they get caught in a net underwater, but they claw their way out of it and continue fighting. The current carries them closer and closer to a nearby waterfall. They continue to fight, and the current finally plunges them over the edge, with neither willing to surrender.

Synopsis for "Dreaming With the Enemy"

This story is a reprint of the comic
Marvel Comics Presents #120.

Continued from last issue...

After a brutal struggle that took them all across Nightmare's Realm, Wolverine and Venom's fight plunged them over the edge of a waterfall. After a rough landing, Wolverine wakes up at the bottom. He tries to contact Professor X, but finds that he can't reach him. Wolverine lights a cigar, and turns to see Eddie Brock's unconscious form, the symbiote having left him when he hit the bottom and went unconscious. He also sees several crocodiles about to devour Eddie, and, realizing he may need Venom later, he reluctantly attacks the crocodiles to defend Eddie. After fighting them off he carries him out of the water and onto land, and Eddie wakes up, and the symbiote returns to him, becoming his costume again.

Wolverine and Venom agree to put aside their differences in order to defeat Nightmare, and Wolverine impales the unsuspecting Venom in the stomach, in retaliation for when Venom impaled him on the tree. With their debts settled, the two are about to set off when they hear the illusion of Mariko's scream. They race off in the direction of the noise, and find that it's coming from their destination, Nightmare's mountain. They begin the long climb up the slope, and eventually run into a giant creature that has been waiting for them.

The story is continued next issue...
