History
The Estrellan Armed Forces are the military forces protecting the South American country Federative Republic of Estrella. The Estrellan Armed Forces are made up of air forces, infantry and navy: Although Estrella is a landlocked country, it is within the Amazon River basin, which covers a lot of its terrain with water. Estrella borders Brazil, Colombia, Peru and San Diablo, being in good relatinoship with all of its neighbours.[3]

Roxxon then resorted to its subsidiary divison for applied cybernetics, Cybertek,[1] to provide the Estrellan Armed Forces with state-of-the art weaponry with which they could destroy the rebellion.[4] Cybertek provided thirty-two Worker Ants, unammed construction devices with substantial military potential[2] to facilitate work and defend the construction[3] along with six hundred thirty-seven Estrellan soldiers armed with mortars and rifles, but lacking air support.[2] As this was still not enough, Roxxon resorted to Cybertek's cybernetic warrior Deathlok[1][3] which, per Cybertek head Harlan Ryker, should be able to track and obliterate the guerrillas.[3][1] Initial glitches with the use of human brain in the cyborg[5] led to Roxxon's board of directors becoming skeptic and pushing Cybertek to meet the deadlines for the Project: Estrella. The Cybertek scientists travelled to Estrella along with[1] Roxxon's Vice President of International Development Clayton Burr,[4] where they met with the Estrellan General who had leased the Deathlok product, before shooting Deathlok in a missile to destroy a rebel-aligned campment. Monitored by Cybertek, Deathlok massacred the enemy forces, except for a young girl, Emilia Verdugo, who even tried to protect herself with a submachine gun.[1] The violence jolted the pacifist nature of Michael Collins, whose brain had been unwillingly transplanted to the cyborg body. Collins temporarily took over the cyborg so that it would not kill the girl.[1][3][6][7] Burr convinced the General that the mission had been a success, but the Cybertek team had noticed the glitch and took Deathlok back to the United States for fine-tuning. Once there, however, Deathlok escaped[1][3] and international law enforcement agency SHIELD was involved[8][9] as they discovered the illegal arms sales to Estrella and wanted to pin it to Cybertek.[2]
Meanwhile, Cybertek assets remained in Estrella supporting the Armed Forces against the guerrillas[2] and, correctly foreseeing that Deathlok would go back to Estrella, Harlan Ryker improve the defenses of the dam[4] sending weapon designer Ben Jacobs to control the Cybertek weapons and provdiing the army with a command center with Mainframe Carrier wave for their coordination. Then Deathlok, controlled by Collins, returned to Estrella aiming to end Roxxon's operation there[2][3][8][9] as it was environmentally-damaging among its many other flaws.[2] Deathlok allied with the resistance forces of Joseph Verdugo,[3] coincidentially Emilia Verdugo's father,[2] to lead an attack to blow up the dam; Collins had discovered that, if the dam was destroyed, Roxxon would cut their losses and leave Estrella for good.[3][2] Thou some of Verdugo's forces were reluctant to trust Deathlok after his previous attack a few weeks ago, Verdugo agreed to Deathlok's plan.[2]
