Eternity Comics was an independent comic book publisher with a very short life, that eventually became an imprint of Malibu Comics (company that was bought by Marvel Comics in 1994)
Eternity was established in the middle of the 80s Black and White Comic Book Boom, following the success of the independent comic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Various comic publishers tried to match that success and published black and whote comics of variable quality and various martial arts, adventure and japanese-like themes.
Eternity itself was founded in the spring of 1986 in Boulder, CO, and overseen at the beginning by Brian Marshall and Tony Eng. The company soon moved to Brooklyn, NY. In April 1987, the Comics Journal revealed that Eternity, alongside other comic publishers named Imperial, Wonder Color, Malibu and Amazing was privately financed by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, president of Sunrise Distributors. Shortly thereafter, Rosenberg discontinued most of the publishers, integrating the companies into Malibu Comics, and retaining the Eternity label as an imprint of Malibu.
