Flag of European Union

The European Union (EU) is a politico-economic union of 28 countries with. Most of their territories of its member states are in Europe. A common market has allowed many of these countries to adopted a single currency known as "The Euro". The European Parliament is located in Brussels, Belgium.

Events[]

In Ghent, Iron Man met with the heads of the European Union. He revealed his identity to them as Tony Stark and hoped to advise them on how to deal with the financial crisis hitting the world.[1]

Alternative Realities[]

Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610)[]

On Earth-1610; the European Union formed the European Defense Initiative's super-soldier program. Each member country provided a team that worked on its own designs, with Dr. James Braddock overseeing the project as a whole. Brian Braddock joined his father worked on designing an "Exo-suit" which could enhance the wearer's abilities. Allegedly Thorlief Golmen stole the Norwegian team's successful prototypes to become Thor. Despite this setback, the project continued working to create a European Union equivalent of the Ultimates taskforce forming in the United States.[2] The claims regarding Thorlief would later be revealed as an elaborate deception by Gunnar Golmen, who pointed out that Norway was not even a member of the European Union.[3]

The following are the member countries of the European Union:

Norway had a 1994 referendum, after which opted to stay out of the European Union, but still contributes to its budget as a member of the European Economic Area.[4]

Turkey applied to the European Union but has not been accepted yet.[4]

The United Kingdom is a former member of the European Union[4] but left following a referendum in 2016.[5]
