History

The Apocalypse and the Phoenix were fated to confront each other over the fate of mutantkind. Once Evan Sabahnur evolved from Genesis into Apocalypse, his former friend Quentin Quire used the power of the Phoenix to seemingly kill him. Apocalypse's survival was partly assured, however, by the Death Seed he used to transformed Idie Okonkwo, the woman Quire loved.
