Synopsis for "Goblin Night"
Rachel Summers awakes from a nightmare in which her baby brother Nathan Summers screams in pain and agony. She immediately changes into her Phoenix form, crashes through several floors of the Excalibur Lighthouse and disappears into the night sky. Her teammates awake and examine the destruction on their headquarter building. In addition, Rachel unknowingly telekinetically changed the molecules of her roomate Kitty's sleeping dress, rearranging it into baby clothing.
Kitty, Nightcrawler, Captain Britain, and Meggan discuss what to do about Rachel. They realize that something must have happened to her baby brother and are afraid that Rachel looses control over her Phoenix powers. During this discussion, Nightcrawler notices that Meggan is dressed in quite sexy underwear which she apparently wears to please Captain Britain - in order to gain his attention. Brian, on the other hand, doesn't seem to notice. Nightcrawler becomes mad about Captain Britain's behavior towards his girlfriend and angrily demands that Excalibur travels to New York to watch over Rachel.
In the meantime, Scotland Yard officer Dai Thomas is summoned to Euston Station for investigation. He meets Alysande and Alistaire Stuart, members of the W.H.O. (Weird Happenings Organization). They tell him about strange events currently happening in New York. Inanimate objects come to life all over Manhattan and the Empire State Building seems to be growing. WHO needs Thomas' assistance in the investigation of another odd event - a weird train appeared out of nowhere in Euston Station. It apparently is a Nazi train of the "Reichrail England", powered by steam produced by a giant dragon (who bears a striking resemblance to Lockheed). W.H.O scientist Alistaire Stuart and Dai Thomas meet the passengers of the train: Moira MacTaggert of Edinburgh University and her body guard Callisto. Both are wearing Nazi insignia and strange costumes. In addition, MacTaggert protests against her detention and announces that her captors will have to answer to the "Führer" himself.
High above in the orbit, Rachel Summers flies to New York, reflecting about her mother Jean Grey and her powers. When she reaches New York, she is startled by the fact that the Empire State seems to be growing and swarming with uncanny creatures. She observes winged demons, swarming on the outside. On a platform on top of the Empire State building, she discovers a woman she immediately recognizes as Jean Grey. Rachel calls out to her, but the woman announces that she is the Goblin Queen and uses a psionic blast to push Rachel away. Rachel falls down and lands on the living surface of the building where she is swallowed.
The remaining Excalibur members are on their way to New York, flying over the Mid-Atlantic. Nightcrawler is carried by Captain Britain, while Meggan carries Kitty. Kitty feels an urgent desire to visit a toilet and so Excalibur is forced to land on a ship. While Captain Britain talks to the captain, Kitty uses the ship's filthy facilities. The other sailors approach Meggan who feels flattered by their sympathy and lust. Captain Britain doesn't seem to care, but Nightcrawler teleports between the sailors and Meggan and orders them to leave her alone. He and Meggan continue their journey to New York, while Captain Britain follows, now carrying Kitty.
In Manhattan, Rachel tries to free herself from the living wall and the demons guarding her. She eventually bursts free and falls down where she crashes into a bride shop. There she is touched by a mysterious hand.
Excalibur has reached New York and is shocked about the shape and size of the Empire State Building. They decide that Captain Britain and Kitty will scout the streets, while Nightcrawler and Meggan reconnoiter the Empire State building. Suddenly, Meggan begins to change. She drops Nightcrawler who is captured by flying demons, and flys to the top of the tower where she is greeted by N'astirh. He transforms her into the Goblin Princess.
Nightcrawler manages to free himself and jumps down the Empire State Building, followed by demons. He jumps from demon back to demon back until he crashes into the ground, right in front of the bride shop. His body is hurting inside and out and he cannot move. In the shop window, Rachel has changed into a grinning, stock-still mannequin, dressed in a wedding dress.
In Uptown Manhattan, Captain Britain and Kitty encounter an animate, crazy police car which is threatening civilians. Captain Britain destroys the car and is then caught by the Goblin Princess who drags him into a cinema. Kitty follows them into the building and suddenly awakes, lying in the Afghan desert, surrounded by Afghan civilians, wearing designer shades. She herself changed into some kind of Rambo outfit. Suddenly, Captain Britain appears, wearing nothing but army trousers, a red headband, a giant gun, an axe and a sword. He threatens Kitty and announces that he will execute her as a penalty for challenging the Goblin Queen.

Synopsis for "Goblin Morn!"
All hell breaks loose in Manhattan as the Inferno rages. Demons rule the skies, inanimate objects become animate and violent. The Empire State Building is still growing high into the sky. The demon Crotus walks the chaotic streets and suddenly stumbles across his heart's desire: Rachel Summers, standing in a shop-window, still transformed into a mannequin wearing a wedding dress. Nightcrawler, who fell from the Empire State Building's higher levels, lies unconscious in front of the shop. Crotus immediately decides to marry the plastic statue in an arcane ritual from the old Grimoires. He apparently recognizes Rachel and knows everything about the powers of the Phoenix and Madelyne Pryor. By binding Rachel, he hopes to become almighty himself.
In the meanwhile, three teenagers who are hunted by demons seek refugee in the cinema. They are dragged into the same movie as Kitty Pryde, finding themselves trapped in Afghanistan. Kitty faces Captain Britain who wants to kill her as a penalty for challenging the Goblin Queen. He shoots at her with his rifle, but she phases and the bullets miss her. When she solidifies in order to kick him, he grabs her, but she can free herself and holds her knife to his throat. Captain Britain transforms into some kind of monster while Kitty's outfit changes into a cheerleader costume.
On the outside, an animated garbage truck discovers the unconscious Nightcrawler, picks him up and devours him. Nightcrawler awakes in darkness, surrounded by some other trapped humans. One of them lights his cigarette lighter to see if the newcomer is wounded or if he needs help. The civilians panic when they see Nightcrawler's face, mistaking him for a demon. He tries to explain that he is a mutant, but this isn't very comforting, either. When the people start to beat him up, the fighting unsettles the garbage truck and it spits its passengers out. The humans run away, leaving Nightcrawler behind who cannot believe what he just experienced.
Kitty Pryde, still wearing the cheerleader costume, is hunted by the Custodian. She seeks cover in a kind of school, but gets hurt by the Custodian's claws. She is shocked when she realizes that his claws can hurt her even when she is phased.
In the meanwhile, Nightcrawler found cover on a high building. He is worried about the madness which is raging throughout Manhattan. While he is trying to understand what's happening, a stone gargoyle starts a conversation with him. Down in the streets, mannequins from Bloomingdale's run amok and attack a young woman. Nightcrawler leaves his roof and rescues the woman, who reports that all mannequins suddenly came to life. Together they hide in "Forbidden Planet" where they meet animated stuff from various science fiction movies. While Starship Troopers patrol the shop, a large group of mannequins attacks. The troopers shoot them to pieces, but the mannequins body parts simply reassemble in a chaotic fashion.
Kitty, still fleeing from the Custodian, reaches a room where the dead and mutilated bodies of the X-Men hang down from the ceiling, bound with chains. She also meets Meggan who was transformed into the Goblin Princess. Kitty tries to attack Meggan, but suddenly her cheerleader clothes change into an evening gown. In front of an orchestra, Captain Britain - now wearing a suit and top hat - asks her to dance with him. She accepts, hoping to outdance him until he drops. He tries the same while the Goblin Princess watches.
The Starship Troopers still fight against the mannequins at "Forbidden Planet". Suddenly, Nightcrawler discovers a mannequin wearing Rachel Summer's suit. He grabs it and tries to escape from the mob. Unfortunately, he isn't strong enough to teleport, but then he is rescued by the Gargoyle who lifts him up into the sky.
Kitty and Captain Britain dance in front of the Goblin Princess. After a while, Brian becomes weaker and stumbles while Kitty feels fresh and strong. The Goblin Princess stops the dance and chains Brian.
Crotus started the ritual in which he wants to bind Rachel with a spell. The ritual is conducted by another demon who eventually declares Crotus and Rachel to be married.
The Goblin Princess took Captain Britain, now chained to her throne and dressed in a slave costume, to a remote tower. Suddenly, Kitty appears in front of her, wearing armor and wielding the Soulsword which manifested the moment before she entered the castle. With the sword, she breaks the spell over Captain Britain and Meggan.
The Grimoire ritual is almost concluded when Nightcrawler and the Gargoyle disrupt the ceremony. They attack the demons and Kurt closes the book. Then, he tries to reverse the ritual by throwing all core components - the original mannequin wearing Rachel's suit, the book and the demon, together. Phoenix awakes and Rachel manages to free herself from the spell. The spell reversal worked, but the Gargoyle broke during this process into many pieces. Nightcrawler mourns over the broken statue.
All people who were trapped in the cinema return to reality and run away from the building. Kitty, Meggan, and Captain Britain remain in the cinema, now dressed in their superhero suits, and shaken by the experiences they just made. Crotus, standing lonely in the deserted streets, sadly watches the disappearance of the other demons and his master.

Synopsis for "Excalibur's New York Adventure"
After saving the world from Inferno, Excalibur stays in the New York Plaza Hotel for some days. The day after the Inferno, Captain Britain awakes in broad daylight and discovers that his teammates are gone. Nightcrawler left a note that he was going to retrieve the old X-Men Blackbird from the Lockheed Facility in California. The X-Men are considered to be dead, so Exalibur could use the jet for transportation. Kitty Pryde left a note that she travelled to the X-Mansion to retrieve some personal belongings. Meggan, who is illiterate, left no message but disappeared nevertheless.
Brian Braddock is worried about Meggan and feels guilty for being drunk and neglecting her. His suit was destroyed during the Inferno event, so he puts on the hotel's gym togs and flies from the hotel roof in order to find Meggan. The people in the streets are cheering when they discover the flying super hero, one of them is Clark Kent.
Meggan is depressed. She remembers her time as Goblin Princess during the Inferno Event and regrets that she tried to kill her teammates. Crying, she hides at the beach of Coney Island where she is discovered by a group of young women. The women take her along and try to cheer her up.
In the meantime, Kitty arrives at the X-Mansion. There she meets the New Mutants who are trying to rebuild the destroyed mansion. She argues with them about intervening during the Mutant Massacre and together they mourn for the dead X-Men and Doug Ramsey. She also meets Illyana who was reverted to a small girl and who turns Kitty down.
Captain Britain is still searching the streets of Manhattan for Meggan. Suddenly, he discovers a woman with a child down in the streets who are threatened by an approaching car. He lands in front of the car and stops it with his body, saving the civilians. The collision with the car destroys his gym togs and he realizes that he is naked and surrounded by a curious crowd and the police. One policeman borrows him a blanket and he runs into a near sports shop to buy a new gym tog. His muscular body gets a lot of attention from the bystanders. While he tries to fly away, a pocket thief steals his wallet from the back pockets of his trousers. In addition, he discovers that he apparently lost all his super powers and cannot fly anymore. The police call him a taxi and he is forced to continue his search by car.
Meggan got some new clothes from her new friends. When they visit a cinema, she meets a young man and is immediately attracted by him. Without realizing, her outer appearance adapts and she suddenly resembles the young man. They dance and spend the afternoon together, but when he tries to kiss her, she changes her appearance again, repelling him with a scary look.
Kurt Wagner reaches "Skunk Works", the Aerospace research facility of the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. The X-Men Blackbird is hidden within the facility and became part of a secret research project. He teleports inside the jet and steals it.
In New York, Captain Britain is still searching for Meggan. When the taxi driver demands his fee, he realizes that his wallet was stolen. The taxi driver calls the police who arrests Brian and strip-searches him. Brian tries to explain that he is a super hero, but when he is asked to demonstrate his powers, he cannot even lift a car. Apparently, he lost not only his flight powers but also his enhanced strength. The curious crowd is disappointed and leaves the scene, but he eventually manages to lift the taxi, the taxi driver being his only witness.
Rachel Summers left Earth to visit her baby brother Nathan Summers, living with Jean Grey in the X-Factor Headquarters. She doesn't want to reveal herself to Jean and Scott, so she silently watches her brother through a window, talking to him. Jean feels her presence, but Rachel disappears before she can be spotted.
Meggan is watching a street basketball match in Greenwich Village and decides to participate in the game. She involuntarily changes her appearance again, now resembling the black basketball players. They allow her to join in the game and are impressed by her skills and agility. Brian, back in the taxi, passes the basketball court and recognizes Meggan. He jumps out of the car, runs to her and manages to fly above the crowd (which costs him all his strength of will and concentration). Meggan meets him in the air and they kiss.
Back in the taxi, Meggan explains Brian that she is capable of defending herself. Brian is worried about his powers getting weaker and weaker. Meggan's powers seem to be affected as well; she shapeshifts involuntarily, adapting to the emotions and people around her.
Upon reaching the Plaza Hotel, Meggan pays the taxi fee which shames Captain Britain.

Synopsis for "The Two-Edged Sword"
Excalibur rapidly left the Excalibur Lighthouse to fight the Inferno in New York City, leaving Lockheed behind to guard the damaged headquarters. The dragon is very happy when "his humans" return and jumps at his friend Kitty Pryde. To his surprise, Kitty doesn't welcome him with open arms but grabs his throat, chokes him and then throws the unconscious Lockheed to the ground. The team who entered the Lighthouse isn't Excalibur - it is Lightning Force, Excalibur's alternate version from the Earth-597 reality. Led by Hauptmann Englande, Captain Britain's counterpart, Meggan, Nightcrawler and Shadowcat entered the Earth-616 dimension to search for Moira MacTaggert, the Reichsminister of Genetics, and her bodyguard Callisto who were misguided to this dimension by a Widget portal.
In the meantime, Excalibur spends some time in the ruins of the X-Mansion in Westchester (which was destroyed by Mister Sinister). While the mansion itself is completely destroyed, the underground research complex is still intact. In the lab, Kitty Pryde is evaluating Captain Britain's decreasing powers. He undergoes some tests which prove that he is losing his superhuman strength, reactions, and flight capabilities. Nightcrawler enters the control room and tells Kitty that Meggan's powers have changed as well. He asks Kitty to step besides Meggan who is watching Captain Britain's tests, and Kitty realizes that Meggan involuntarily adapts to her outer appearance. Then, Nightcrawler steps besides Meggan and she becomes blue immediately without realizing, seemingly adapting to other people like a chameleon.
When Rachel Summers enters the room, Meggan merges with Rachel who feels as if she was drowning in Meggan's mind. Rachel PSI-pushes her away which leads to the destruction of the control room. Both women are shocked about the experience. Kitty tells Captain Britain and Meggan what she just found out: Their super abilities are declining without an apparent cause and without an end in sight. She suggests to consult Moira MacTaggert at Muir Island or Reed Richards. Suddenly, the telephone rings and FBI officer Dai Thomas asks Excalibur to return home to London in order to investigate "big trouble" involving Moira MacTaggert.
In London, Nigel Frobisher is introduced to the Hellfire Club. He is mad about Courtney Ross and complaints that she is hampering his business career in Fraser's Bank. Suddenly, she appears behind him, challenging him to a card game. The rules are simple: both players draw a card, the higher card wins. In order to lure him into the game, she makes an irresistible offer: if he loses, he will have to pay one pound. If she loses, he can name her wager. Frobisher demands one weekend with her and she accepts, but then Frobisher loses the first round. Courtney then challenges him to a more serious game with win-or-lose-all rules. After each round, Nigel has the chance to quit. He accepts and a curious crowd gathers at the gaming table. The rules are simple: both players draw one card, but with each round, the bet increases by a factor of 10. Nigel wins the first four rounds, getting greedier each turn. Then, the next draw is for one million. Courtney Ross offers what Nigel Frobisher desires most: her job as chief vice president of Fraser's Bank. Nigel cannot offer anything and doesn't own a million pounds, but he doesn't dare to quit the game either because he is afraid this will mark him as coward for all times. He accepts the game, hoping to win again, and is excited when he draws a king. But Courtney Ross draws the Ace of Spades, thus winning the game. He is shocked and admits that he cannot pay a million pounds. She leaves the table, telling him that he will pay his debts. The audience is unaware of the fact that Courtney Ross is dead - she was killed by Opal Luna Saturnyne (Earth-9) (see: Excalibur Vol 1 5) who took her identity and pretends to be her since then.
In the Tower of London, a family with two children visits the museum, led by a tour guide who gives explanations about the exhibits. When they pass through a door, they realize that they just stepped through a portal, opened by Widget who is still searching for his friend Colin. Elsewhere in the tower, Alistaire Stuart of the W.H.O. is talking to officer Dai Thomas about recent investigations when the door opens and five strange, reptilian lifeforms enter the room: two male, one female and two children. They are dressed like tourists and one of the males wears the uniform of the tower guards - apparently the family who was just transported into a different dimension, and their tour guide.
Outside, a tower guard and a W.H.O. soldier are guarding the tower gate. Suddenly, Brian Braddock appears, wearing a new haircut and a trench coat. He distracts the guards while Nightcrawler, Meggan, and Shadowcat silently enter the tower complex. After passing the guards, Brian meets his friends in the shadows. Meggan welcomes him with a Nazi greeting and calls him "Hauptmann Englande". Lightning Force, Excalibur's alternative version from the Earth-597 dimension, broke into the tower to rescue Reichsministerin MacTaggert who is locked in the tower's dungeon and guarded by Alysande Stuart and a female W.H.O. soldier. While Moira gives the disgusted women a lecture on genetic and other Nazi concepts, Shadowcat phases through the wall and kills the soldier while Callisto subdues Alysande Stuart.
Upstairs, Dai Thomas and Alistaire Stuart argue with the tourists who demand to speak to the authorities. Hauptmann Englande, still disguised as Captain Britain, enters the room and grabs Dai Thomas. Kitty and Phoenix, who just landed with the X-Men Blackbird in the courtyard, interfere. Kitty leaves the room, phases through a wall and meets her Doppelgänger from the other dimension. The other Shadowcat touches her and Kitty loses consciousness and falls down to the floor. This distracts Phoenix who is telepathically liked with all Excalibur members and Hauptmann Englande uses this distraction to beat her. Then, he removes his trench coat, presenting his uniform and declaring that he is Hauptmann Englande, leader of Lightning Force. He demands the release of Moira MacTaggert at once and threatens to destroy the Tower. Nightcrawler tries to defeat him, but he is surprised by his counterpart who quickly teleports him several times, rendering him unconscious and taking him prisoner. Just before leaving the scene, Lighting Force is stopped by Captain Britain, wearing his old and much too small Captain Britain uniform, taken from the museum, because his current suit was destroyed during the Inferno Events. Lightning Force mocks at him and prepares for battle.

Synopsis for "Widget"
In the Tower of London, Captain Britain of Excalibur fights his evil doppelgänger Hauptmann Englande of Lightning Force, Excalibur's Earth-597 counterpart. Hauptmann Englande knocks him around and defeats him, while Captain Britain is hampered by his suit which is far too small and not very tearproof. In addition, he is still weak from his visit in America where he temporarily lost most of his superhuman powers. The other Lightning Force members are watching the battle and cheering in triumph.
In the meantime, Reichsministerin Moira MacTaggert from the Earth-597 dimension and her bodyguard Callisto take Alysande Stuart hostage and force her to accompany them to an Aircraft. They plan to leave London, ignoring the fact that they cannot return to their dimension if they do. During some confusion caused by the fighting Brian Braddocks, Alysande Stuart manages to escape into the dense fog. Callisto follows her and captures her, using her as a human shield against the W.H.O. soldiers. Suddenly, the reptilian tourist family enters the Tower courtyard and interrupts the firefight.
Captain Britain and Hauptmann Englande continue their fight. Brian throws Englande into a Tower wall which breaks. The debris falls down to the ground, threatening Calvin, one of the tourist's children. In the nick of time, Captain Britain saves the boy but this allows Shadowcat (Earth-597) to phase through him, thus disrupting his life energy - a special ability she doesn't share with her Earth-616 counterpart. Nightcrawler (Earth-597) catches the unconscious Captain Britain and teleports him several times, exhausting him even more. Then Hauptmann Englande picks him up to administer the Coup de Grace. Suddenly, Brian breaks free and punches Hauptmann Englande. Nightcrawler (Earth-597) is confused because he thought Brian Braddock was completely helpless and unconscious. He then must realize that Excalibur outsmarted them - Meggan (Earth-597) changes into Excalibur's Meggan, knocking him out. She then captures Minister Moira MacTaggert, disarms her and defeats her bodyguard Callisto. Shadowcat (Earth-597) tries to touch her in order to drain her life energy, but Rachel Summers appears behind her and catches her in a psi force field while asking herself why there wasn't a Rachel Summers Earth-597 counterpart.
Kitty Pryde awakes and finds herself lying on the floor. Alistaire Stuart is sitting besides her and she immediately falls in love with him. He is worried about her state because he can't feel her pulse and she explains that she is phased. While they are talking, Widget appears and opens a portal besides them. Alistaire, an enthusiastic scientist, is immediately appealed by the portal and tries to step into the other dimension.
One of the other dimension's inhabitants, a woman talking in a strange tongue, greets him and tries to pull him through. Kitty touches him, rendering him into a phasing state and freeing him from the grabbing hands. When the other dimension's woman becomes angry, Kitty phases through the portal, disrupting its energy and closing it.
In the great hall of the Tower, Excalibur, Lightning Force and the police are discussing what to do with the Earth-597 visitors. Kitty is deeply moved by her counterpart's fate because Lightning Force uses the Jewish mutant as a slave and tool for doing their dirty work. When Moira MacTaggerts gives a racist explanation, Kitty becomes angry and leaves the hall with Rachel who tries to calm her. When Alistaire Stuart meets Phoenix, he is strongly attracted to her. Nightcrawler joins Kitty and Rachel on the Tower's roof and tells them that they decided on a consensus about what to do with the Lightning Force members. They will try to swap the trains back into their respective dimensions, returning the original Moira MacTaggert and Callisto to Earth-616.
While Phoenix and Kitty are flying home, Opal Luna Saturnyne, disguised as Courtney Ross (she killed and replaced her in Excalibur Vol 1 5), watches them from her office window. She reveals her plans to get hold of Kitty and Phoenix and to make use of their power and potential.

Synopsis for "The Price"
As Phoenix and Kitty Pryde fly home, Nigel Frobisher watches them, strongly attracted by Phoenix. When Big Ben chimes 9 o'clock, he suddenly remembers that he has an appointment with Courtney Ross. He owes her one million Pounds - a sum he cannot pay - and so he is anxious to meet her in time. He hurries to her office, knocking several people down, and eventually reaches her secretary Brigitte with the last strike of Big Ben. Nevertheless, Courtney Ross accuses him of being late.
Kitty and Rachel reach the Excalibur Lighthouse where Rachel destroyed the roof when she got the distress signal from her baby brother Nathan Summers. She is shocked by the extent of destruction she caused. When they land in front of the door, they discover a sword sticking in a rock. Kitty immediately recognizes the Soulsword. Rachel tries to pull it out but the sword doesn't move. Kitty refuses to draw the sword and enters the lighthouse where she finds the unconscious Lockheed, who was attacked by Lightning Force.
Meanwhile, Courtney Ross demands that Nigel Frobisher pays his debts. He refuses, telling her that she doesn't have any legal hold over him. She reminds him that they were surrounded by witnesses during their card game and that he will loose his reputation and social status if he refuses to pay his wager. Nigel then admits that he cannot pay the money and Courtney Ross offers him to pay his debts by serving her. She even promises him wealth, power, and respectability and Nigel agrees. She marks him with a lightning earring which is meant to remind him of his new status as her pet and servant. His first assignment is to meet with Technet's Gatecrasher and to make them an offer.
A few days later, Alistaire Stuart visits the Excalibur Lighthouse. He is greeted by Rachel and the two of them immediately start flirting. Kitty Pryde, wearing a pink bath robe, is ashamed about her outer appearance. She is attracted to Stuart but he only has eyes for Rachel. Together, they discuss Widget and how to activate him. After they left Widget alone in the living room, he awakes.
In the Tower of London, Alysande Stuart is alone in an office. Suddenly, a brimstone cloud announces the appearance of Nightcrawler. It is Kurt Wagner's evil counterpart from the Earth-597 dimension. He grabs Stuart and threatens to abuse her. But Alysandre changes her shape and becomes Meggan who pushes Nightcrawler away. Before he crashes into a wall, he teleports and is caught when he materializes on the other side of the wall. Captain Britain, Excalibur's Nightcrawler, some W.H.O. officers, Lightning Force and Reichsminister Moira MacTaggert await him. Kurt Wagner is shocked about how predictable his counterpart was and is afraid of his own darker sides.
At Excalibur Lighthouse, Alistaire Stuart and Rachel Summers go for a walk while Kitty is left behind. She decides that she will try to become as attractive as Rachel, so she opens Rachel's closet and tries one of her red suits. Kitty feels unwell in this new outfit and decides that she doesn't dare to wear ist. Suddenly, she stands naked before a group of aliens in a giant hall. Some hairy Excalibur counterparts stare at her and she introduces herself to them. Then, the scene changes and she finds herself naked before Rachel and Alistaire. She is so ashamed that the phases through the floor and hides in the cellar, crying.
Some time later, Kitty begins experimenting with Widget who seems to be asleep. Her work is interrupted by a telepathic call from Rachel, informing her that Nightcrawler needs her presence.
In the north of England, the Lightning Force Reichsrail Train is ready for the exchange procedure. All members of Excalibur and Lightning Force are assembled at the railway station when Kitty and Rachel join them. Lockheed cries out and then Excalibur discovers that the train is powered by a greater version of Lockheed, trapped in the train engine and serving as a slave. They begin to argue with Moira MacTaggert, but she defends her methods. A portal opens and the Earth-616 Moira MacTaggert, Callisto and the train crew step back into their dimension. The Earth-597 counterparts, on the other hand, break their arrangement - when the portal is closing, Reichsminister MacTaggart throws a nuclear grenade into the portal. Rachel tries to contain the explosion with her psi powers, but the explosion is too strong. Suddenly, the giant face of Widget appears and then the train - together with all Excalibur members on board - disappears.

After meeting backstage with the band, she hopped on the train, to join Excalibur in guarding a royal wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral. As she turns out the light, she hears whispers in the darkness. Upon signing, she becomes smoke, and the policeman is revealed to be the disguised Agent, who absorbs her and gains Little Psylocke’s power. Little Rogue tries to use her powers, but they don’t work, and The Agent tries to use his telepathy to make Little Rogue sign. Kitty grabs her at the last moment, and the X-Babies and her escape into the night, stealing one of the Police cars outside. In the early morning, they come across a van on the road, and they persuade the occupants to switch vehicles. The occupants are all famous comic writers, including Chris Claremont, who the other writers blame for the X-Babies stealing their van. Down the road, they stop at a service station for food, and a lady approaches Little Havok, asking for his autograph. He signs, and instantly the woman becomes The Agent, and Kitty and the X-Babies are already fleeing down the motorway while he absorbs Little Havok. Kitty warns none of the X-Babies to sign anything.
Having run out of fuel in Manchester, Kitty gets the X-Babies on a bus. While on the bus, a mysterious passenger persuades Little Rogue and Little Dazzler to sign a document making their true love fall madly in love with them, despite Little Longshot’s warning. The Agent absorbs Little Rogue and Little Dazzler, and tries to absorb Little Longshot as part of the contract, but Little Colossus holds them off while Kitty and the remaining X-Babies make their escape. Having slipped on a train, Kitty and co. find themselves at Euston Station in London. Kitty dashes into the lost and found, rummaging through it for her things, as the hulking presence of Amanda Wall makes itself known. She makes Kitty sign a document for her items, but Little Wolverine slashes her backside just before she can do so, revealing it was The Agent all along. Little Wolverine holds off The Agent while the rest escape. Little Storm carries them into the sky, where Little Longshot causes a stack of papers to block The Agent’s view, so they can flee.
At St Paul’s Cathedral in London, Judith Rassendyll, Queen of Ruritania, is getting married. As the priest asks if there are any objections, Kitty phases through the floor with a giant sign asking for Excalibur’s help. The priest’s disguise falls away, and The Agent blows sneezing powder at Kitty. She sneezes and discorporates, while the Prince Judith was marrying collapses. Judith distracts The Agent as Little Storm and Little Longshot engage, while Kitty rematerializes, just in time to catch Storm as The Agent accidentally knocks her out in mid air. W.H.O agents, led by Brigadier Stuart, rush in, but The Agent uses Dazzler’s abilities to stun them all. Excalibur, however, are not so easily stopped. As they attack, Little Longshot cuts The Agent’s contract pouch open, and Little Storm blows the contracts into Kitty’s hands. She phases the ink through the paper, voiding the contracts, releasing the X-Babies and removing their powers from The Agent. As one, Excalibur and the X-Babies knock out The Agent. Outside, Judith is evacuated, and she reminisces about her previous time being rescued by Nightcrawler as she spots him. Phoenix, with a little persuasion from Kitty, reaches into The Agent’s mind, to discover Mojo’s plans for the X-Babies, but it triggers The Agent to change, revealing it to be Ricochet Rita, warped by Mojo to do his work. He projects his face over hers, and smugly declares that Rita is still under contract. In response, Little Storm says that the X-Babies want to make a deal. In return to them agreeing to come back, Mojo will destroy Rita’s contract. He does so, and they step through the portal one by one. As it shuts, Rita dives after them, as she’s grown so fond of them.
In the Mojoverse, Mojo’s initial joy has turned to despair. With the X-Babies not having signed a contract, coming of their own free will, they start demanding better working conditions and perks, that he has no choice but to accept…
