Synopsis for "Back to Reality"
Two weeks ago: Excalibur's ship, the Midnight Runner, was shot down over Genosha, causing them to plummet towards the ground. Meggan, using her elemental powers, managed to restore power to the ship, and Kurt attempted to pull it up before it crashed. They narrowly avoided disaster and survived the landing. They encounter a group of starving mutates, facing prejudice and violence from armed human guerrilla fighters. Wisdom's secret dealings with Black Air create tension within the team, and they struggle with the ethical dilemmas surrounding the conflict. During the fight, Wisdom also revealed that he himself is a mutant.
Present: Excalibur is still in Genosha to help the new coalition government investigate the source of mutant-specific ammunition used in a civil war. Jenny Ransome reveals to Brian Braddock that the bullets used in Genosha were derived from the skin of a mutant named Pizer, with ties to Sir James Braddock, Brian's father. They head to the old lab of the Genegineer, which is rigged with explosives. Douglock assists them in accessing valuable data, hinting that the mutate bonding process might not have originated from Professor Moreau. However, before they can gather all the information, the Sugar Man interferes and destroys the evidence.
Meanwhile, Agents of Black Air, Threadgold, and Scicluna, observe Excalibur's actions, believing that their interference will eventually expose hidden truths, which Black Air will exploit for their own gain.
