Synopsis for "Verse VII: The Unspeakable and the Uneatable"
At the Lighthouse, Betsy, Rogue, and Gambit witness Rictor burying Brian Braddock's sword under a mound of rock at Brian's request, though Gambit and Rogue express concern about this decision.
Betsy then travels to Otherworld and finds her brother Jamie on the throne in Avalon. They discuss Jamie's rise to power before Betsy seeks out Apocalypse, who is in a library with Exodus, both engrossed in ancient texts. Betsy is uneasy about Exodus's presence and warns Apocalypse that she will oppose him if his goals endanger Otherworld. Apocalypse reminds her of their shared Krakoan identity but suggests to investigate the Warwolves, non-native and malevolent creatures, by reading his grimoire.
Betsy finds Jubilee, who struggles with her son Shogo's preference to remain a dragon in Otherworld. Betsy suggests Jubilee leave Shogo with Meggan and join her on a mission. They meet Pete Wisdom at the London Zoo to inquire about Warwolves, learning they were sold due to being difficult to manage. The trio moves to a karaoke bar to speak with Cullen Bloodstone. Cullen is sceptic about Betsy's legitimacy as Captain Britain and admits his plan to hunt the dangerous Warwolves he acquired from the zoo.
Betsy, Jubilee, Rictor, Gambit, and Rogue join Cullen at Bloodstone Summer Lodge, agreeing to hunt the Warwolves. Gambit is the first to discover a disguised Warwolf by a river but it is Betsy who kills it. Rictor uses his powers to flush another Warwolf out of hiding. Rogue catches and drains it of its lifeforce. This angers Cullen, who reveals a demonic nature. And now his inner monster desires to hunt mutants ...
