Synopsis for "Greatness and Catastrophe"

After the death of her father Brokk, Dilann is cast out by the other members of her tribe due to them believing Brokk to have been cursed and that Dilann inherited it. However, Dilann clung to what her father had told her -- that she had been marked by the gods for greatness, though in her tribe's language the word for "greatness" also meant "catastrophe". While camping, Dilann is attacked by a sabre-toothed cat, only for a meteor to impact just before it can attack her. Emerging from the meteor, a symbiote investigates the sabre-toothed cat's corpse before bonding to Dilann, who accepts what she sees as a gift from the gods.

Some time later, a group of Kree soldiers enslave Dilann's former tribe, one soldier complaining about how overseeing the imprisonment is beneath them. The soldier's comrade replies that the Supreme Intelligence determined that the species, while primitive, has enormous genetic potential. The disdainful soldier sneers that the planet's atmosphere is giving him indigestion and leaves to relieve himself, scoffing at his comrade's warning about dangerous predators. Walking off while singing an anti-Skrulls military song, the Kree soldier is ambushed and decapitated, his head left as a warning.

Having bonded over their shared loneliness, Dilann and her symbiote see each other as soul-mates; the symbiote transforming her into a saber-toothed cat-themed humanoid monster called the Black Fang. Perching in a tree, the Black Fang surveils the invaders, who Dilann initially assumed to be gods, only for her symbiote to correct her that they are mere mortals. Despite her exile, Dilann decides to act as her former tribe's Lethal Protector, the Black Fang decapitating and dismembering the Kree soldiers. The Kree deploy a combat-mech, Dilann asking her symbiote if it is a god and her symbiote replying that it is only a tool that can be broken. Dodging the mech's energy-beams, the Black Fang attacks it, Dilann wondering if it's within their power to do so. Her symbiote replies that if she wishes for them to destroy the mech, they will do so even if it costs them their lives. Dilann tells her symbiote she wishes to save her people, the symbiote replying that they are its people too... as long as they deserve her. The mech grabs the Black Fang by the throat, but before it can fiinish her off its head is shot off. The Black Fang collapses, unconscious, and Dilann awakens to find a blonde woman bonded to a symbiote resembling body armor. As Dilann reacts in alarm and confusion, the woman tells her to calm down and that her symbiote interfaced with Dilann's to let them understand each other. Dilann thanks the woman for saving her, the woman replying that Dilann almost had it and that all she did was finish it off and free her people's shackles. Turning to her tribe, Dilann asks if they're alright and says that she saved them, vindicating her father's belief that she was destined for greatness rather than cursed. Her former tribespeople pelt her with stones, blaming her for the Kree invasion and telling her to leave before she brings more invaders down on them.

As Dilann weeps at this final rejection, the Black Fang symbiote engulfs her and roars that they do not deserve Dilann or itself. As the Black Fang storms off, Agent Venom commiserates with Dilann's plight and offers her a place in her tribe, saying that her and her symbiote's strength will be needed against a threat that is coming for them and all others like them. The Black Fang accepts and welcomes the challenge, saying they will show their opponent the true meaning of greatness and catastrophe.

Synopsis for "Best Little Horror House"

In the desert, a man is whipped to death by a woman dressed in black. The following day, the Web-Slinger -- suffering from dehydration -- comes across the man's corpse tied to a cactus and being eaten by vultures. Wondering if the dead man was the victim of a tragedy or left as a warning, the Web-Slinger spots a nearby ranch house and decides to investigate in the hopes of getting something to drink.

Outside the ranch house, a man named Alexander chases a topless prostitute demanding she give him what he paid for. As he grabs the woman's arm and slaps her, furious at her audacity for telling him what he can and can't do to her. As Alexander declares his intent to get his money's worth and raises his hand to beat her, a burly man in a black suit grabs Alexander's arm -- the prostitute ducking behind him -- and tells Alexander to leave. Livid, Alexander shouts that he paid for her, but the man retorts that Alexander broke the rules and that no-one lays a hand on the brothel's girls or forces them to do anything they don't want to. Incredulous, Alexander demands to know if the brothel treats its prostitutes better than its clients, the man replying that that's correct and that Alexander should heed their warning and leave. Snarling that he'll give the man a warning, Alexander pulls a knife from his boot, the woman screaming a warning. Before Alexander can attack, the Web-Slinger shoots the knife from his hand and promptly passes out.

The Web-Slinger regains consciousness in a bed, finding himself shirtless. Introducing himself as Edward, the burly man thanks the Web-Slinger for intervening and admires his web-shooting gun, saying they left his mask on due to respecting their customers' desire for anonymity. Introducing himself as Parker, the Web-Slinger gets dressed, Edward informing him that Alexander escaped. Grinning, Edward tells Parker that he's their guest of honor and that the boss wants a word. As Edward leads Parker into the main room of the brothel, the prostitutes cheer and hail Parker as a hero, Edward chuckling and saying Parker will have time to get acquainted with them later.

Edward leads Parker into a dark room where a woman sits in an ornate spider-themed chair with a red and black spiral overhead, a deck of tarot cards arrayed on a small table in front of her. Chiding Edward for being too formal in introducing her as Madame Brock, the woman introduces herself as Edna, the madam of the brothel. Edward withdraws, Edna asking him to take care of Parker's horse, and Edna tells Parker that she's been expecting him -- having foretold his coming with her cards. Smiling, Edna says that she's not used to being indebted but that her cards tell her that there's not much she can offer that he'd accept. Confused, Parker asks what she means and Edna says that the cards tell her about everything, and that while most people like cards that deal in chance her cards deal in fate. Smiling, Edna says that Parker was fated to come to her ranch and they were fated to meet. Thanking Parker for saving her employees, Edna offers to show him her appreciation but Parker politely declines, saying her hospitality is reward enough. Commenting that Parker is a man of morals in an a lawless land, Enda offers to prove Parker with provisions for his journey. As he thanks her, Daisy -- the prostitute who Parker saved -- bursts in and says that there's trouble, Edna remarking that her cards foretold this would happen.

Outside the ranch, Alexander stands with a group of armed men, Edward kneeling on the ground in front of him with a noose around his neck. Alexander shouts that he warned them and now he and his men are going to burn the ranch to the ground. Edna says that she's tolerated his barbarism for far too long, turning a blind eye because his money was good. Coldly saying that no amount of money will save him, Edna drapes a veil over her face, which through the veil sports a fanged mouth and large white eyes. Calling herself Madam Venom, Edna pulls out a whip and lashes the knife out of Alexander's hand. The Web-Slinger and Madam Venom make short work of Alexander and his gang, Parker offering to ride to the nearest sheriff's office to turn them in. Saying they handle their own justice, Madam Venom signals her prostitutes, who execute Alexander and his gang with a barrage of shotgun fire.

The following morning, Edna asks Parker not to judge her or her girls too harshly, Parker saying that while it's not the way he would've handled things he respects that she's free to handle her business as she sees fit. Bidding Parker farewell, Edna says her cards have foretold they'll meet again. Once he's gone, Edna addresses a woman in a white dress, telling her to come out. Surprised that Enda knew she was there, Anne Weying starts to introduce herself only for Edna to cut her off, saying that Anne wants to recruit her to stop a monster threatening the safety of the Multiverse, and that she agrees to join Anne's team. As Anne asks how Edna knew all that, Edna replies that her cards told her everything.

Synopsis for "Wet Works"

Onboard a prison ship, aliens are abducted by a crew of space pirates who butcher them to sell their organs on the black market. Compelled by the Voice of the Cosmos, Venom: Space Knight infiltrates the ship run by feline cyborg Titus and leaps into action to save a Kellrexian child, manifesting an arm-blade and cutting the child free. Firing on Venom with his arm -cannon, Titus orders his men to kill the intruder. Manifesting dual arm-blades, Venom leaps at Titus, who sneers that he's going to peel Venom's klyntar off like skinning an animal. Venom's witty retort is interrupted as Titus shoots him point-blank in the chest, stunning him long enough for Titus' crew to load him onto the wet works. As the blades try to vivisect him through his symbiote, Flash Thompson laments that he rushed in without backup and is all alone. The Venom symbiote chides him, reminding Flash that he's never alone and that they're partners. Taking over, the symbiote rips apart the wet works operating equipment and lunges at Titus, returning control to Flash. Pinning Titus to the wall of his ship, Venom prepares to impale him through the head, but Titus spitefully elbows the airlock trigger and vents himself and Venom into space. As Titus suffocates, Venom is drawn in by the gravity of a nearby planet. Transforming the symbiote into a space shuttle in an attempt to slow his fall, Venom passes out from the pain of re-entry plasma burning it and slams into the ground at terminal velocity. As Flash crawls out of the crater, the symbiote engulfs him and he dazedly looks up to see a blonde woman bonded to a Venom symbiote identical to his old Agent Venom look standing over him, holding out her hand. Commending Flash's heroism, Agent Venom says she likes his style and could use him in the fight against Carnage, Flash agreeing to join her.
