Synopsis for "The Teeth of Beasts"
In May of 1941, Pastor Eddie Brock attends to Our Lady of Saints Church when mobster John Deward enters. Not noticing who it is, Eddie asks if he has anything to confess only to be horrified when Deward threatens to reveal he gambled the church's tithes and offerings away. Eddie confesses he has a drinking problem, which in turn led to further temptations, but that he meant to double the church's profits but for a bad run of luck, and regrets having spent a single penny. Deward remarks that Eddie is a lousy blackjack player and needs to settle his debts before he settles things for them and ruins Eddie's reputation. Distraught, Eddie begs for a little more time and Deward leaves, saying they'll "talk" later. Praying for forgiveness, Eddie begs God for help and opens the Bible to Deuteronomy 32:24. Not understanding, Eddie walks through the church and finds a puddle of black ooze dripping onto the floor. Touching it out of curiousity, Eddie is engulfed and finds himself floating in a void, a sinister voice telling him to head towards a distant spot of light. Eddie complies only to be confronted by an enormous black angler fish, which swallows him whole.
In the physical world, the giant angler fish assumes a humanoid form -- a monstrous mockery of a priest's garb -- as it climbs to the roof of the church. Revelling in his newfound power, Eddie declares that God has seen fit to bestow upon him a new purpose, freeing him from his prior doubts and hesitations. Arriving at Deward's apartment, Eddie transforms back into his human form and tells Deward it's time for their talk. Offering Eddie some coffee, Deward acknowledges they used to be friends but that his bosses in the mob are leaning on him to collect Eddie's debts. Transforming into his monstrous form, Eddie sneers that he's part of a new calling now and that Deward doesn't know a thing about him. Introducing himself as Venom, the transformed Eddie coils his tongue around Deward's neck and yanks him towards his fanged jaws.
Waking up in his bed, Eddie assumes he was dreaming until he hears that John Deward had been found half-eaten with "Sinner" carved into his chest, leading the police to dub the culprit the "Sin-Eater". Finding a white spider-shaped pendant, Eddie realizes he was responsible and is initially horrified, but the symbiote speaks to him -- saying that it had to be done and that sometimes the innocents must be sacrificed for the greater good.
Sometime later, Eddie works out at a gym when he is approached by Detective Stan Carter, chief investigator of the Sin-Eater case. As Carter notes that Eddie and Deward were recently seen together exiting Nick Lewis' Tavern With No Name and wonders what a priest was doing in such a place, Eddie retorts that even Jesus walked among sinners. Saying he's not accusing Eddie of anything, Carter tells him he just wants to know if Eddie knows anything about any enemies Deward may have had.
The following day, a troubled young man named Emil Gregg enters the church and confesses to Eddie that he's been hearing voices and believes himself to be the Sin-Eater. Phoning Detective Carter, Eddie later visits Gregg's apartment and tells him that God has shared a gift with him that enables him to visit divine vengeance upon the sinners of the world, and that he wishes to share that power with Gregg. As Carter arrives with backup, the Venomized Gregg crashes through the window of his apartment and is promptly shot and run over. As Gregg staggers into a nearby ally, his piece of the symbiote abandons him to be arrested, leaving him raving that he's the Sin-Eater and was chosen by God to kill sinners like John Deward. Emerging from the shadows, Eddie comments that the Lord works in mysterious ways; surprising Carter, who asks what he's doing there. As Carter arrests Gregg, he comments that Eddie must hear a lot of crazy things during confession; Eddie turning to leave and grinning with fanged teeth as he replies that he does.

Synopsis for "Sparkle and Shine"
Bored in class at St. Lutgarde's Academy, Ellie Ellison doodles in her notebook while thinking to herself that the world is a terrifying place and that for most of her life all she'd wanted was to escape into a fantasy world -- somewhere she'd never be scared again. Startled by the teacher reprimanding her for not paying attention, Ellie drops her pencil. Ellie's classmate and secret crush, Parker Piper, picks it up and gives it back to her, calling it cute. As Parker winks and says Ellie can borrow one from her anytime, Ellie is saved by the bell and bolts for the door with a stammered excuse. The Venom symbiote, disguised as Ellie's hair bow, teases her over her flustered reaction; Ellie retorting that fighting evil by moonlight is easy but talking to the most perfect girl in school is impossible. Bursting through the doors, she finds several students being attacked by a pack of lizard-men. Again thinking to herself that the world is a terrifying place but that she isn't scared anymore, Ellie asks Venom if it's hungry. Replying that it always is, Venom transforms Ellie into a dark magical girl with jet black skin, fangs, claws, and cloud-like pink hair; the Venom hair-bow transforming into a wand. Calling her magical girl form Necroko, she uses the symbiote's tongue as a "Pretty Whip of Justice" to dismember one of the lizard-men -- spattering several horrified onlookers with blood. Thinking to herself that her life changed for the better when she found the magic hair bow that lets her transform, Necroko evades the lizard-men's attacks. Reveling in her power, Necroko uses her hair to slice apart two lizard-men. As Parker herds several onlookers back into the school, a group of lizard-men lunge towards her and she trips before she can get away. Tearing all but one of them apart with her Pretty Whip of Justice and hair, Necroko pounces on the last one just as it's about to devour Parker and bites into its neck, ripping its throat out with her fangs. Devouring part of the lizard-man and ripping off its head, Necroko turns and advances towards a terrified, blood-spattered Parker, who begs her not to hurt her.
The next day, Ellie yawns and says she's still exhausted from yesterday, Venom replying that that's her fault. Her homeroom teacher calls out to her, telling her to come see something, and she enters the classroom to find several students crowded around Parker's desk. To Ellie's dismay, as Parker shows them a photo of Necroko devouring the lizard-man, the students comment how disgusting and horrifying the dark magical girl is, calling her a monster. Parker vehemently disagrees, recalling how Necroko had gently assured her that she was safe before saying that Necroko is not a monster and saved her life. Smiling as she sees Parker blushing slightly while looking at the photo of Necroko, Ellie thinks to herself that she doesn't fight for wealth or fame and that action is her reward, but she loves knowing she's impacted someone's life forever. Noticing a bandaid on Parker's hand, Ellie asks if she's okay and Parker replies that she was bitten by something while she was asleep. Ellie asks if it was a vampire, but Parker assures her it was just a spider. As Ellie says that Parker should still get it checked out in case it gets necrotic, Parker calls her weird before winking and saying that's cute. Ellie asks Venom how it would feel about recruiting a new Warrior of Justice, doodling a picture of herself as Necroko and Parker wearing a spider-themed costume as she says that every good magical girl needs a squad.
