History
During his time as the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth, Agamotto created three magical artifacts known as the Eyes of Agamotto.[7] This one, sometimes referred as the first or the second Eye of Agamotto, represented power and manifested strength.[6][4][8][1]
At some point after its creation, this Eye of Agamotto somehow ended up in the possession of Sadurang, a powerful Asgardian dragon.[9] Needing the item to permanently defeat the evil sorcerer Kulan Gath, Doctor Strange sent Magik, Conan, Juggernaut, and Black Knight to retrieve it.[8] After a brief battle against Sadurang, the team was able to accomplish their mission, with Magik promising to return the Eye to the dragon once they were finished with it. Strange offered the amulet to Conan, as he planned for the Cimmerian to wear it in their upcoming final battle against Kulan Gath, but he refused it for not trusting sorcery. Having no use for it anymore, Strange locked the Eye inside a chest in the Sanctum Sanctorum.[1]
The Eye of Power was seemingly returned to Sadurang at a later point, but Gambit stole it from him when he was confronted by the X-Men in Teotihuacan. Gambit promised to give the Eye back to Sadurang if he accepted to go to Antarctica and not eat anyone for a whole year; conditions which the dragon agreed to meet.[10]Properties
This Eye of Agamotto is capable of augmenting the strength of its wearer magically.[1]
Alternate Reality Versions
Earth-21924[]
Sometime prior to Shuma-Gorath's death, Doctor Strange hid the Eye of Power inside Rama-Tut's tomb for Kang to find in the future. As instructed in a note also left in the tomb by Strange, Kang gave the amulet to Conan so he could use it against Kulan Gath, who had since conquered the world using the power stolen from Shuma-Gorath. Conan died fighting Kulan Gath,[11] but lasted enough to buy Kang time to assemble the Savage Avengers in the past and prevent this future from coming to be.[12]See Also
